“This is What it Mean to Say Phoenix, Arizona”
The short story of, “This is What it Mean to Say Phoenix, Arizona” by Sherman Alexie is about a young man named Victor dealing with the tribulations of his father passing away and traveling to his father’s town to retrieve his old things, which includes his father’s pickup truck., Victors old friend Thomas, whom he fought with in the past travels along with him. Victor had a rough relationship with his father, so he and Thomas revisit the past experiences Victor had with his father.
The main characters both Victor and Thomas are portrayed as the protagonists in the story. Therefore, no one is an antagonist in this story. Victor’s character

    Victor is a very self-centered person, and he is dedicated to his experiment. He becomes obsessed with creating the fiend that he doesn’t communicate with his family.
