of what they do. We know deep down that’s not the way to be, but we think differently. We get caught up in believing the wrong thing rather than what’s right. Rory proved to his mother that he could become something better than his father was. Rory moved to Nashville, became a songwriter, writing songs that were number one on the county billboards all while making money. That is a prime example as to why you should believe you can always do better. I’ve noticed as I've grown older many kids my age don’t think they can excel and become better at something. No one has told us we can’t, it’s because our generation is lazy and wants nothing to be proud of. Going out and saying you can't do something because you think you will fail is not the right attitude to have. Going in saying I'm going to become better will get your father in life. Rory and Joey never gave up hope, even when they did find out she was full of cancer. If there was one major lesson the Feek family taught me, it was to never lose hope no matter the situation. When times become hard and you lose all hope and faith, your life is going to be miserable. I have personal experience with this. When my uncle past away it was very difficult for me to get past the bad. I had lost hope, and my family and friends tried to help me get past it. What I didn't realize at the time was you can move past it, but only if you tell yourself you can.
Worrying is part of the life God provided us with. Without individuals worrying about something, there would be nothing to communicate about. When God put problems in our lives, he intended them to be temporary and not have to last a lifetime. People take problems to far. In this book, John talks about how his teachers always would tell his parents he’s doing well in school, but in reality he’s failing every class. His parents had a hard time believing the teachers, and that affected the way they treated Johnny. Johnny’s parents did not know what to believe, until they realized he actually couldn't read, and struggled with doing what the teachers asked. Being able to go out and feel confident about yourself will help you not lose hope. Feeling strong about anything can be very difficult for anyone. There are many hardships everyone has to face within living their life. No matter the situation something always comes up and ruins what you thought was going to be awesome. We as Americans need to get past the fear and except what God has in store for us. He does everything for a reason. Not one single thing that happens in our life is stupid, it was meant to be in order to make you stronger. Rory and Joey faced many hardships that made them weak.
When they met they decided it was for a special reason, and they grew stronger within their faith for the Lord. The Feek family has made me open up and take everything for granted. They've taught me to do everything with passion, and don't let others opinions get to you. When Joey first meet Rory she thought the world had ended. She couldn't believe what was before her eyes. She knew from that moment that Rory was the one she was going to marry. Joey thought this was good until the day she lost all strength and decided to just move on. She thought by forgetting Rory that would cure all her pain. What she did not know was she lost all her strength in something that become amazing. Joey was diagnosed with cancer a couple hours after giving birth to their little Indiana. She does a wonderful job at teaching us why we should not lose up and we we need to stay strong through everything. There is a reason for everything that happens. Don't take everything for granted, live them to the the
fullest. Days go by, and Joey and Rory run into one another at the store. They began to talk things over, and decide maybe they should go out and eat a bit and work things out. At this point I think that is a great idea. Talking things out is a major key to being successful in life, and having a healthy relationship. They meet up later that night at the tree where they buried a letter each one of them wrote and read it aloud to Kenzie. Kenzie reactions were not what they were expecting. In my eyes Kenzie was happy she finally found her complete family, and hoped they all could live together. There was one person there for Ellie all the time, her friend Tina. Tina was her best friend, and she has a kid of her own, therefore she knows how to care of a kid. Tina shows Ellie the importance of raising a kid. Tina then takes Ellie to her church, and they soon grow closer to the lord. I'm thankful Tina opened Ellie’s eyes about reading Gods word. As Kenzie got older, her mother grew angry with God. Ellie had been praying that one day Kenzie would meet her father, and God had yet to make that happen. Not long after Rory stops going to church, Kenzie starts going by herself. Kenzie was listening to the preacher one day, and he said “It’s our job to love them, our job to show them the love of Jesus every day. And it’s our job to pray for them” (Feek 126). Kenzie took this message to heart, and immediately started praying for her mom. Kenzie went strait home and asked her mom “did you ever believe in Jesus? When you were a little girl, like me?” (Feek 128). Ellie was startled by the question her little girl just asked her.
