This Side of The Sky
There’s another way to heaven
I believe I know
Look around
So many pleasures for the taking
I intend to stay in heaven
While the sun is high
Heaven has turned out to be This side of the sky

There’s another way of thinking
I believe in love
I believe life should be lived before it’s over
On this golden summer evening
River flowing by
Maybe heavens always been This side of the sky

Never seen a place so peaceful Like a fairy-tale
With no sign of any dragons in the forest
I’m not used to being happy
Makes me want to cry
Never knew all this was waiting this side of the sky

There’s another way of living
I believe in love
I believe life must be lived before it’s over
There’s another way to heaven
No one has to die
Maybe heavens always been this side of the sky
There’s another way to heaven
We don’t have to die
If we’re lucky we’ll find heaven
This side of the sky
There’s another way to heaven
I believe I know
Look around
So many pleasures for the taking
I intend to stay in heaven
While the sun is high
Heaven has turned out to be This side of the sky

Tim Winton’s that eye, the sky (1986) uses first person narrative techniques, symbolism, imagery and characterisation to create the persona of Morton Flack, the narrator and protagonist of the novel. Winton uses Ort’s narration to give the reader insights into the Flack family, the relationships they have and the issues that they face. As Winton develops Ort’s narration the reader is supplied with many symbolic images. The most important symbol and imagery in the novel is the sky. Prior to Henry Warburton entering the life of Ort and educating him about God and religion, Ort sees the sky as an eye which looks over the world and sees everything. Throughout the novel the eye imagery signifies the spirituality and mysticism between Ort and Henry. This essay will analyse how Winton uses the eye imagery to reveal the differences between the two characters by examining Ort’s unyielding faith in a higher force and Henry Warburton’s ever changing relationship with God. This paper will also compare the dispositions of both Ort and Henry.…

October Sky is the perfect movie for inspiring young people to follow their dreams. It follows the story of Homer Hickam who dreamt of building and designing his own rocket. Inspired by the launching of the Soviet satellite Sputnik in the late 1950's, his curiosity was sparked and along with his friends, they set out to make their own rocket. They were all passionate about their work and took it very seriously. Their teacher, Miss Riley, who wanted them to have better lives instead of becoming coal miners like most people in their town, further encouraged them. The Rocket Boys, as they were known, were determined to build this rocket and did not easily give up despite the numerous failed attempts. Being observant was needed by the Rocket Boys in doing their experiment. Patience was also seen in them because even though people made fun of them, they were not deterred and still continued with what they were doing. By looking at the wrong things they did and examining and analyzing their data thoroughly, they were able to perfect the rocket launching. They were resourceful in looking for ways to come up with the funds they needed for some of the rocket parts. They even went to the extent of making use of old railroad tracks to earn the money. When they were banned from performing their experiment in Coalwood, they found a spot miles away from their town so they could continue their project without people getting hurt. They were also optimistic in completing their project and of getting scholarships from universities so that they could become more educated people.…

In an obscure land lies Lone Mountain Peak. It soars into the Montana sky at 11,166 feet, and towers over the tiny community of Big Sky. This remote area is home to the Big Sky Ski Resort that was built in the 1970’s by the late news broadcaster Chet Huntley. It also houses the newly built Moonlight Basin Resort. The small town of Big Sky has grown to be one of Montana’s most sought out year-round playground for recreationists. During the summer months, Big Sky is a golfer’s paradise, a fly fisher’s sanctuary and a whitewater rafter’s dream. As the temperature drops and winter emerges, strap on a set of snow skis and tear up the softest powder on one of 220 ski trails. Of course if Lone Mountain is too difficult of an undertaking, then hop on a snowmobile and take a nice and peaceful trip through the scenic trails of the Gallatin National Forest. Gallatin National Forest spans across 1.8 million acres of land and includes six mountain ranges. As anyone can see, whether travelers are looking for a summer or winter destination, Big Sky Montana offers many fun-filled activities to meet everyone’s needs.…
