Influences on the Constitution

The Magna Carta was the first constitution written in European History. The Benefits where to keep the free man away from ever being imprisoned unless by a lawful individual. This influenced the constitution because the people still felt that they didn’t have the freedom deserved. That this constitution was only to benefit those of wealth. So when it came to the constitution of the United States they made sure that everyone was equal no matter your class in society. Thomas Hobbes believed that humans were selfish and should not be in government, so to control the selfishness he believed there should be one king or queen to rule. But he also believed because humans were selfish that there should be a multi-cultural and unbiased group of people to help protect the people to ensure the king was fair for all parties. Sounds a lot like the president and the House of Representatives. From 1632 to 1704, The Philosopher known as John Locke wrote about Political Philosophy, Education and Epistemology. His writings helped find the modern western philosophy. John Locke’s influence was based on his beliefs. Some of his studies included investigating into electricity, mapmaking and mathematics. Benjamin Franklin was one of the 5 men to draft the declaration of Independence and also was one of the 13 men to draft the Articles of Confederation. He did a lot politically that helped influence the world today one of the things he left behind was his picture on our $100 bill. Mr. Alexander Hamilton lived from 1755 to 1804 and was an Economist, Government Official, Journalist, Military Leader, Lawyer and a Political Scientist. In 1777 he became George Washington’s assistant and in 1788 he talked New Yorkers into ratifying the Constitution which led to him becoming the first secretary of treasury known. Alexander Hamilton influenced the constitution in many ways as he had many occupation all in which he changed and made something good of the change. What Alexander believed was that the constitution of the United States didn’t unite the states but instead separated them. So he took charged and was able to talk all the New Yorkers into ratifying the constitution to make it more of a solid core of government which he believed would effectively give us true long lasting unity and strength as a country.
