Jefferson is our third president of the U.S. He was born in Virginia 1743; born into Elite farming family. His inventions were quite diverse, he invented things of all sorts. Jefferson enjoyed farming and so he built a plough that would dig deeper then the wooden ones that are being used now. For those of you do not know what a Cipher Wheel is, it's a wheel that can hold a secret message. Thomas has also invented the "Great Clock". The great clock doesn't seem practical but it is a really great invention. The clock told the day and also told the time, through the use of a long chain. Jefferson is currently hanging his clock in his plantation home in Monticello. The gong of the clock was very, very loud so everyone could hear it. It is said that the clock gong can be heard up to 3 miles away. We are not sure we have to see for ourselves. The clock even includes an interior and a an exterior face.
