While i was thinking what happened i heard a strange ancient voice talking to me "Oh you are awake i see i thought you died like the rest , you are pretty lucky you have become a vampire and now my slave for all eternity. " Is he talking to me...or just trying to make fun of me i can't see anything it's just a black void... I wonder if i should shout help me or save me someone ...or just keep quiet i wanna go home "…
We rushed out of the door as we felt relieved that the horrifying experience was finally over, but it was definitely worth the long, but seemingly short wait into the asylum. Every Halloween, my mom and I will return to the Baldwin Asylum. We will always remember the fear that ran throughout our veins before we take our first step into the darkness once again.…
She was born on a busy summer night on September 13th 1918 in Brookline, Massachusetts. I always had the feeling that Rosie was a little different from the rest of us. On the day of her birth the midwife arrived late, and my theory is that this action deprived her brain of oxygen. We were proven right when she failed to advance from kindergarten and was deemed to suffer from intellectual disabilities. When this happened our parents began to conceal their third child from society.…
Doing the dishes and vacuuming the house are simple everyday chores, but adult tasks are like stepping into a whole different world. I have had some experiences stepping up into the adult world, and it was not easy.…
It’s midnight and as I expected, a black Ford F-150 Truck with tinted windows pulls up to my house. I walk outside holding a backpack with my portable speakers and a baseball bat. However, I quickly change my mind and leave the baseball bat inside the house. I hop into the back seat of the truck and am greeted by four large burly kids. “What’s up Matt?” says Ben who is sitting in the drivers seat. With music blasting, Ben takes off the parking brake and presses his foot down onto the gas pedal. Soon we are heading down dark winding roads as we listen to music from Captain Murphy, which contributes to our mischievous mood. Finally we arrive.…
Quickly I went to get my father out of his bed and ran to towards the gate. When we almost got there my father started to slow down so I drag him to the gate. And when I got through the gate, my father got caught half through the gate then he pushes me through the gate with a very strong strength that I didn't know he had. I was scared and worried about my father but at the same time my father want this for me so I was running fast as I can to start a new life my father want me to have. Suddenly I heard a gun fire then I couldn't move, couldn't breathe and started crying at the moment I saw straight…
How to you feel now a days? I hope all is well. I am sure Aunt Rosie would not mind to keep you company.…
There has been many cases in which I have helped an outsider feel welcome. One time in particular is when I played tag with this little boy at church since he was new and no one else played with him. Originally, I was outside eating candy and talking to my friends at church. I noticed that this little boy was standing all alone watching all the other little kids play without him. I thought that maybe he was upset so I went over to him and asked if he wanted the rest of my gummy worms. He seemed nervous at first, but eventually he started talking to me. I learned that he was five years old and he was visiting his grandparents for the weekend. His older brother was outside playing basketball with some of the other older boys at the church, and…
Two years ago, on a cold Saturday morning, I prepared for my first ever track tryout. I took a shower, put on my clothes, and got into the car. On my way to practice, I felt strong physically, but I also had an undefined, jittery feeling about how the day was going to go.…
I am a communicator because everyday single day I ask questions and talk to people. Mostly questions to teachers because sometimes I don’t get it, but sometimes my friends because they might be confusing. One of my goals is to not wait until the last minute to do all my homework because sometimes there are a lot and I won’t be able to finish it in time unless I stay up extremely late. In order to avoid doing that, I will always ask my siblings or parents to keep reminding me to do my homework until it’s no longer a habit. My other goal is to be a better thinker because sometimes the best way to understand the question is to think deeply. My third goal relates to my first one and that is to always do my homework. Most of the time I’m very lazy and I don’t want to get out of bed just to do homework so I just leave it there. I will begin changing that goal by telling my brother, my sister, my mom, or my dad to keep…
Her eyes glistened with a repulsive gleam of a smile on her face. I walked slowly hearing the whispering of my socks against the floor. It was that time again, piano lesson. Mrs. Zhang looked at me and smirked eerily. I sighed and took my place on the on the bench, close enough to smell my teacher. I put my shaking hands on the keys and began.…
Every human struggles everyone has hardship. When I was young I began to notice that maybe it is hard to understand what other people struggle with. The start of a mundane life began as usual a bus ride to school, but today something else happened a flash of yellow a soundless luxury sports car zoomed bass by a Lamborghini. As the car passed by everyone looked at it with amazement as the never seen a car pass from this part of the street. I began to wonder when will I get one with imaginary job I will live the high life. The bus hits a bump on the road I am begging to rationalize who much work will it take to achieve greatness to struggle to overcome adversity.…
2390 East Huntsville Road, I was 5 years old and use to my dad never being around always working until 3 am at his work. I don't remember waking up with my dad being home, but that had been life since I can remember. What I do remember is that I consider it the worst day of my life. I was 6 years old at the time, I got picked up from school by my mother who had a very cold look on her face the car ride home, but I didn’t think much of it. She was an adult and adults got upset easily. When we pulled into the drive I got out and I was excited to share my day with her, today for me was like every other day. But something was different, my father was home. My dad and mom asked me to come into their room for a minute, the…
I used to live with my parents in the great jungles of Africa. it was a peaceful life. I think back to the times when I went out of my way to jump in puddles, or to chase birds wishing with all my heart that I could fly to. Those were happy times, but I also look back and think that I took everything for granted and I hate myself for it.…
I hide, but not in the shadows, I hide behind a mask. This is me about to divulge my story, so please read on reader. I believe that finding true freedom a person’s mask will fall off. I always told myself as a kid to keep the mask on or else I might get hurt. I do not really know where this type of thinking came from. The mask only came off when I was in the safety of my own room. For years, I stay behind my fake face waiting and watching the world in silence until the day I could take the mask off in public. I realize that taking off my mask was a risk, but it is worth seeing the world and not feeling the need to hide. That day finally came, when the sun is shinning on my back, the wind whipping through my hair and the mask fell off my face.…
