Does someone ever have too much money? In the rocking horse there will be three messages that show us what this story is really saying. The very first one will be relationships between parents and children. The second message will be Economic experience and that will show how money issues work. The last message will be is if the issue of chance and luck for people. There are 3 messages that Lawrence uses in the story of The Rocking Horse.
The first message that the author will shows is Parents and children relationship. In the beginning Paul was a young kid and his mom would say that his father was unlucky. The author even says “it’s because your father has no luck” and its Paul mother that says it to him. Now it doesn’t sound bad right now but if you think about it why you would tell your son that your father has no luck. When Paul gets the rocking horse and he starts gambling he starts making prediction about what horse will win and he starts winning. When Paul starts telling his mother “I’ve got to know for the Derby! I’ve got to know for the Derby”.
