Three Reasons Why Cloning Should Not Be Allowed
Cloning is the process of creating a genetic duplicate of a human being. Cloning has recently become a possibility that seems much more realistic nowadays in society than a long time ago. Even though some people think that cloning should be allowed, I am not in agreement with this because of these three reasons: When people want to create a clone I believe they are trying to imitate God, it goes against ethics, and it also can cause health problems.
There are people who believe that cloning should be allowed. One of the reasons is that parents can have control in their reproductive lives. Children should be valued by who they are, and parents don’t have the right to choose the physical characteristics or even take away the identities of their children. As a result, cloned children will see themselves as an object but not as a person. Another reason is the possibility of cloning organs to save lives. This argument I see it very insufficient because cloned organs can have some defects and cause some damage in a person’s body and organism if the procedure is not well done. Furthermore most scientists agree that research cloning for medical research is not needed as a source of embryonic stem cells these can be obtained from embryos generated by in vitro fertilization.
On the other hand, I think that cloning should be banned. In other words we do not have the right or power to create new lives. Furthermore, it affects to ethics is because it is intolerable. According to Mr. Per Anderson, a teacher of religion at Concordia College in Minnesota, cloning is not good because it changes the structure of nature. If this technique were attempted in humans, it would risk miscarriages in the mother and severe developmental problems in the child. Also, religion is affected, as well. The Vatican feels strongly against cloning because God is the only creator of lives and souls
