Three Response Levels During A Hazmat Crisis

There are three response levels during a hazmat crisis. Depending on the nature and the magnitude of the emergency, a variety of employees and resources may be mobilized. A Level 1 crisis is defined as an extreme crisis that requires immediate mobilization to protect and secure all parts of the facility. This would include all people moved to a safe location away from the hazmat materials. Causes for this level of concern would be a hazardous material spill, fire, natural disaster, or terrorist attack. Including, biological weapons attack, on the facility itself, or a highly contagious disease attack. Level 2 is defined as a serious crisis that has the potential to spin out of control, and have serious affects to the facility's reputation,
