Three Words That Describe Me

Using only three words to describe myself is hard, but if I had to choose I would describe myself as being honest, selfless, and understanding. Although I didn't start off being honest and understanding I'm glad I learned how to be because being this way makes me a better person. Theses three characteristics are important to me because I feel like if I didn't have them I wouldn't be able to better myself as a person. When I was younger I wasn't always honest, I thought by telling the truth I would get in trouble. I also thought it would be easier to lie. As I matured I realized that it take more energy to keep up with a lie rather then telling the truth from the beginning. Lying all the time led to my parents not trusting me, and when my parents didn't trust me they would question everything I did. Changing myself from being dishonest to an honest person was probably eh best decision I've ever made because I was able to gain my parents trust back and become a more reliable person, also I save a lot more energy by telling the truth. Honesty is an important value because it shows courage, it makes true to yourself and others, and it also shows maturity. Honest helps you keep relationships and build connections between people and keeps you out of trouble. Three Words That Describe Me

One word to describe myself would be leadership. As the commander of my high school’s JROTC Drill Team, and the President of the National Technical Honor Society I have had many occasions where I had to step out of my comfort zone and take control of situations. Before joining JROTC I did not know what being a great leader was, but after becoming a squad leader I realized I needed to step out of my comfort zone and be the great leader that my squad deserves. Now three years later I am now the Drill Team commander, which I absolutely love being. I love being a guide for others, to be a supporter for them as they go through difficulty. Being a leader has taught me to be humble, to put others before myself. When being a leader you have to realize…

I am very outgoing and sometimes consider myself to be very talkative, even when people tell me to be quiet I cannot help it. That is just the type of person I am. I like to be heard even if I am the only person listening to myself my brain is always running and developing new thoughts and ideas to discuss with other people. Whenever I am with my friends they are constantly telling me to be quiet because I never stop talking I just do not like it to be quiet. I feel that I am the life of the party I also do this at work with my co-workers I just like to talk I feel I have a mouth to express myself and be heard. Openness to experience I feel is another that describes me well because along with always thinking and talking I an very curious to know a little about everything. I feel that I can learn about different things forever, and that I can always learn how to do something I already know a different more efficient way. Curiosity never hurt anyone I believe the world is full of many mysteries and we must unlock and discover them to learn what they are. I also find myself building thing without the instructions not because I do not need them, but because I am curious to see if I can create what I am building without them. Even if I do not know something on a subject I will sometimes act as if I do because I want to see how gullible people are, and I also know many facts about everything so it is easy to believe me. Using agreeableness I would consider myself to be ruthless and soft-hearted why, because I tend to be easygoing and am kind to people I know, but if I do not know you I am not going to be nice to you. Do not get me wrong though even with people I know I can turn on if they give me a good cause to snap on them. People who hitch for rides I…

I am honest. Telling the truth can be hard for people to do but not me. Telling the truth can be hard for people to hear. But it is the only way for us to better ourselves or to move past an event in our lives. I have seen the affects growing up of how my father lied to my mother and the damage that is can cause. Honesty allows us to build trust which is such an important bond that we build with our family, friends and even total strangers. As I am getting older I am realizing that honest is always the best policy but it matters on how you deliver the honesty.…

Lies are told around the world multiple times during the day. Everyone sitting in this room has probably once today, said a lie. Sometimes lying is understandable for someone’s protection but sometimes the truth is essential to the person. There are multiple things people say in a day that are seen as lies such as “That outfit looks really good on you!,” “It wasn’t me!” and “I’ll be with you in a few minutes.” Honestly is not always the best policy because in the end it does not make everything better. People tell little lies so that they protect someone they care about and not hurt the feelings of another person. Honesty not always being the best policy is showed in The Scarlet Letter, “Tell All The Truth” poem, the “He Lies” video,…

In the article Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell the Truth written by Barbara Ballinger it states, “yes, but we shouldn’t manipulate the truth except for rare times-if you’re hiding Anne Frank in your attic because her life is in danger.” lying can not only be “beneficial” in ways that when used, may offer an exit out of a difficult situation. In the article Teens Do their Share of Lying by Loretta Ragsdell its states, “becoming a good liar is a necessary life-survival skill.” said Tim. “Sometimes, it’s the only thing between you and a guaranteed beat down from your parents.” As Tim stated, lying can be a necessity, it is something that can even define the thin line between two…

What’s one word that describes you? That’s the question everyone has been asking me lately. Honestly, I have no idea. It’s not something that I can answer in one second, but is something that took me at least a day to finally decide. My family would’ve called me timid ages ago, however, now they would almost call me outgoing. My friends all say I’m comical and whimsical and people I meet when at my job would say I’m one of the most pleasant people they’ve met in a long time. I, myself, believe that one word to describe me is adventurous.…
