On March 22, 1989 a star was born in Brooklyn. Parents Robin and Lee Laibhen gave birth to a daughter named Tiffani. Tiffani was eight pounds and seven ounces and a very healthy baby. Tiffani was born Haitian, Puerto Rican and Black with her Haitian roots from her father Lee and her Puerto Rican and Black roots from her mother Robin. Because she was raised by both parents Tiffani was spoiled rotten until she moved to. One of her memorable memories happens to Tiffani at the age of 15 in Philadelphia. She was not going to be the baby anymore and experienced first hand the wonderful and painful delivery of her baby sister. Taffani said, "Watching the birth of a child makes you second guess on having kids. It looks so painful." That was not the last sibling Taffani's mother had. Robin also gave birth to two more children giving Tiffani another sister and brother. Tiffani was still a shining star but not only to her parents but to her younger siblings as well. …show more content…
While in high school Tiffani kept the star mentality becoming active in numerous ways such as singing, dancing, music and reading a significant amount of Black novels like True to the Game, Sex Chronicles, and all the editions of Zane.
She was also engaged to a boy. Being engaged never interfered with her school work. Tiffani experience little things that disturbed her a little like people falling short to peer pressure, people getting jumped and people being afraid to take up for themselves. Although this disturbed Tiffani, nothing made her more upset than when she hears or read about young children being harmed, raped, or abused. While in high school Tiffani eventually experience more happy and embarrassing moments like in seventh grade. She was running to one of her friends and fell on a tree stump that was invisible to her. She had to wear a dirt mark on her mini shirt the whole day of
school. Another memorable moment for Tiffani was choosing to come to Delaware State and the death of her aunt in the Twin Towers. Tiffani stated, “The other school she visited did not fell comfortable to her but Delaware State was a HBC and her comfort level was good." She mad a lot of friends and became familiar with a lot of new friends as well. The death of her aunt on the 105th floor of the Twin Towers made her mature as a person. Tiffani said although they did not find her aunt's body, this made her open to new things, and she did not take life for granted. She loved her aunt a lot. Although Tiffani's heart was broken when her aunt died her spirit will always live within Tiffani's soul. Today Tiffani is still a smart, loving, intellectual girl. She still loves to be the center of attention with her parents of course. She still attends Delaware State University in Dover. She still sings, read novels and dances. She still has a boyfriend. Tiffani also is still a shining star to her parents and siblings back home in Philly.
