Time and Dear Uncle Scrooge
My Dear Uncle Scrooge First of all, I want to thank everyone for coming out on this cold, wintery, evening to celebrate my Uncle Scrooge’s change to happiness. Since I was a little boy, all I could remember about my Uncle Scrooge was how unpleasant, unhappy, and how miserable of a human being he was. He never came to family outings and he was always left out on his own accord from fun family times. This past holiday season, Scrooge was visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future. From the ghost of Christmas Past Scrooge learned how much he hurt people. From the ghost of Christmas present he learned what he was missing out on by not going to family Christmas Parties. From the ghost of Christmas future he learned how to change his life. At that moment in time, Scrooge woke from his ghost meetings and realized he wanted to change his life and his future. At this moment, I want to say, “Thank you to the ghosts”. I am happy to have Uncle Scrooge in my life. This man has taught each of us the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas is not all about presents and being greedy but instead is about the love of family and Christ. Without him here today we would all have an empty hole in our hearts. Now if we can all raise our glasses to my dear Uncle Scrooge and toast to him:
May your life from now on out be void of ghosts. May happiness follow you wherever you may go. May love fill your heart all the days of your life. Last of all I will conclude with, “God Bless Us, Everyone”.

Scrooge emphasizes, "What a fine day fellow... An Intelligent boy, a remarkable boy." This is a critical part of this novel because this shows Scrooge overcame his dislike of Christmas and his entire disliking of people. Instead of rudely gesturing to people, he is now starting to act nicer, and more mature. Scrooge exclaims, " Come back to the butcher and I'll give you a shilling. Come back in two minutes and ill give you a crown!" this show Scrooge truly overcomes the was he acts. Scrooge was all about the money- never wanted to share. Ever since the ghost's from Christmas past, present, and Christmas yet to come, Scrooge was offering his wealth off to other people who need the…

When I read this story it showed how Scrooge changed during the three visits from each spirit the first one was the ghost of christmas past, the second was the ghost of the christmas present, the third one was the ghost of the christmas future and it talked about how it has affected scrooge in the past, present, and the future, I think the future affected him the most because he thought having a lot of money would make him a popular person, but when he saw his death, and he was alone, he began to realize money is not what makes family, he thinks about tiny tim about that tiny tim is not rich but he is everyone favorite. Once he have visited every ghost he has changed he is now a nice person.…

I think the best scene that illustrates the journey to a new self is when the ghost of Christmas future puts Scrooge in a grave, and makes him have to promise that he will change. First the spirit shows Scrooge the bed where he is laying at the moment. “Tell me what man that was, with the covered face, whom we saw lying dead?” Then the spirit takes Scrooge to his own grave where it starts sinking and Scrooge is falling inside. In the grave, Scrooge makes a promise. “I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.” “I will not shut out the lessons that they teach.”…

This was that Scrooge did NOT appreciate anything he had in his life. Throughout the beginning of the story, Scrooge took everything for granted. Of course, Scrooge could not realize this because his greed for money took over his soul. He was so caught up in making money, that he did not take a look around him to understand that he was blessed with a loyal clerk, a prosperous company, and a jolly relative still alive. The motif that Scrooge didn’t appreciate him clearly ties back with the chosen passage. This is because when Marley comes to tell Scrooge about the three ghosts, the ghosts will turn him into a more cheerful, appreciative, person. This is also the first part in the story when Scrooge has an opportunity to realize that Marley was such a great friend and partner to him.…

The quote “Scrooge weeps and says to the Ghost, “There was a boy singing a Christmas Carol at my door last night. I should have liked to have given him something: that’s all,” represents how mankind is the business of being human. It represents this because Scrooge realizes how even one coin could have brightened the boy’s day. It also could’ve reminded Scrooge about his own behavior and how it may have made others feel like he once did, when he was young & lonely. This also says that our actions have an impact on ourselves and others. “When we were both poor and content to be so, until, in good season, we could improve our worldly fortune by our patient industry. You are changed. When it was made, you were another man,” also shows how Scrooge was filled with greed, and had chosen wealth over love. It shows that he chose money over mankind, and he had affected Belle and himself, losing her in the…

The following movies that I decide on were Straight Outta Compton “NWA” Directed by F. Gary Gray and My Cousin Vinny Directed by Jonathan Lynn. Both films have their differences as NWA faces police harassment in 1987, and later caught the attention of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to put a stop to discriminating local police officer. But in NWA reasons were to inform the people about police brutality and racial profiling, and in its lyrics quickly said consider the use of violence against police. While My Uncle Vinny film displays a good case of the relationship between language and context in verbal communication.…

In 'A Christmas Carol', Charles Dickens represents Scrooge as an unsympathetic man who is offered the opportunity to redeem himself. Through use of language, the reader is positioned to view him adversely, but during the journey of morality lessons shown by three spirits, Scrooge recovers his sense of joy by undergoing a significant transformation. Scrooge seeks redemption through the many lessons taught by the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come.…

In Charles Dickens’ novella ‘A Christmas Carol’, Ebenezer Scrooge’s transforms himself from an undesirable, self-centred old man to a gentleman with characterisations to exemplify that the most valuable things in life are those which are not tangible; family, friends, love and happiness. The protagonist had the ability to help the unfortunate and deprived Cratchit’s; he also had the obligation to help society, consequently altering into a generous, giving man. Scrooge’s decision to change was also purely selfish, due to the thought of losing his wealth.…

About fifteen minutes later everyone showed up! There had been an intercourse (p. 73) between the guests to play an artifice (p. 36) on Scrooge. Thankfully, Scrooge just laughed and moved on so he could celebrate Christmas with his family and friends. He realized it a facetious (p. 37) and harmless joke. They danced, sang, laughed, and talked for forever. Then everyone exchanged presents until the night ended and everyone headed home, thanking Scrooge for a wonderful…
