Titanic Movie Review
Titanic Movie Review

Titanic (1997) is a wonderful love story based on real life events, as told by Rose, the main character of the story. Kate Winslet captured her character beautifully, acting as if she were really in a higher class in 1912. Most of this movie takes place on the Titanic, although some of it takes place in present time when Old Rose tells stories about her time on the ship. The whole movie seems like a flashback to April 1912.

The movie is powerful, wonderful, and at times, very emotional. The dialogue doesn’t seem forced in any way, in fact, it was perfect considering the fact that it was set in 1912. There were no modern words or expressions and for the most part, everyone spoke according to their class or social status. For example, the upper-class men and women spoke as if they were well educated and the people of lower classes spoke rather simply.
Leonardo DiCaprio (who played Jack) was an amazing actor. The love he showed for Rose really interested me to the point where I didn’t want to stop watching the movie. Rose’s Fiancee was one of the characters that I didn’t like very much. I hated the way he followed Rose and tried to control her every move. He was also somewhat abusive towards her, both physically and verbally. Nevertheless, he did make a great character that really tied the story together. The conflict between Rose, her fiancée, and Jack made for a suspenseful movie where you never know what’s going to happen next.
As for the Editing, the movie moved at the perfect pace. It wasn’t too fast or too slow, although the movie itself was over 2 hours long. It wasn’t over edited and it was beautifully put together.
I would recommend this movie to anyone. Although I have watched it over 10 times, the ending always gives me chills. It is my favorite movie for this

This is a good family movie that can show the viewer’s how some people prey on one another. This movie reminded me of the times my brother and I didn’t get along. It shows how different families are and how they treat one another. Sadly this movie also shows how family members can be so cold blooded. This movie duplicates real life situations where innocent People get hurt, family loyalty gets divided and couples end up in divorce.…

I have always wanted to see this movie, but never had the time to get around to it. There was so much hype going around about it. When I first heard about the movie coming to theaters, it did not sound like a movie I would like. However, when the word got around to me, I knew I just had to check it out. I must say that I am glad I sat down and watched it in its entirety. My first opinion was totally wrong.…

Everyone felt the cold breeze on their face, their eyelashes; frozen. Their hair is iced in place and everyone is surrounded by freezing cold water. No one can feel their body, it has only been ten minutes but people around Rose are already dying. The movie, Titanic, is based on historical stories 50 years prior. White Star Line, the contractors for the creation of the Titanic, and many others, believed that the ship was unsinkable. Therefore, no one would get on the lifeboats. Although, today's forensic science proves many flaws that the ship held. The Titanic is the most influential American film because it illustrates a profound look into history, uses engineering to recreate the historical event, and demonstrates how to live life.…

The look of the film was very crisp and clear. There seemed to be no originality in the mise-en-scene and that was perplexing. In the school environment you saw school things, in a work environment you saw work things. It was as if they were more concerned with dating and the period of the film rather than the mood it was trying to portray.…

Religion has affected society both positively and negatively throughout life. Most religions promote and educate individuals in social virtues; how to choose right over wrong regardless of personal desire (Fisher, 2005). Many charities feed, cloth, and shelter the homeless all in the name of their God and acting on their faith. Unfortunately, while organized religion promotes faith in positive social virtues it also can instill fear and oppress its follower at times. The followers who see the founder of a religion to be extraordinary or supernatural could be mislead by a dishonest and unethical leader (Fisher, 2005).…

The script seemed very well written. Everything that happened dialogue wise worked very well toward contributing to the next line spoken. There was no confusion at all in the speaking, and it was easy to tell what they were trying to convey when they spoke. The inflections they used with their voice helped contribute toward making the lines and the acting more comprehensible, but I feel that the quality of the script also had something to do with the quality of the acting.…

I felt the movie was very interesting with a straight-forward plot that revealed the cultural differences and presumptions people have towards another with out interaction. However Ms. Daisy is reluctant to accept a chauffer, especially a black chauffer.…

I felt that the character Jake LaMotta, played by Robert De Niro, was so ignorant and annoying with his anti social behavior. He gave me the impression of a beast who was in constant battle with himself and everyone around him. One of the first scene when I initially lost respect for him, was him smacking his wife around over a piece of steak. That really pissed me off, such a big strong man disrespecting his wife in such a way totally lost any means on me rooting him on throughout the film. Not long after Jake marries Vicki. He becomes incredibly jealous and possessive and suspects everyone of sleeping with her, even accusing his own brother. This part really frustrated me, he hits Vicki and attacks his brother for no reason other than suspicion. He ultimately creates his own faith and winds up alone, hitting his lowest point in jail. Strangely, I felt content he was in jail, this was his punishment for his abusive ways. All the times he slapped around and hit his wives and over all for being such an awful individual. This film affected me because my mom was abused by her husband, and no punishment was ever dealt to him. I was glad Jake found himself in a cell, this way he could reflect on his wrong doing and change his…
