III. Definition of the Title:
A. Importance and Significance Today we are living in 21st century where automation is playing important role in human life. Wireless connection technology has started to grow and android continues to conquer the world of mobile technology. In a house unit, automation allows the user to control appliances like light, computer, electric fans, lamps and air- condition, using android phones or tablets. The target user or beneficiaries of this project are the persons with disability and the aged. It provides the awareness of user in monitoring and controlling the appliances in a house unit. The system reduces human efforts and also energy efficiency and time saving that will surely help the life of persons having disabilities and the aged ones. The design consists of Android phone or tablet with home automation application or software, Arduino Mega ADK. This project is a design of a low cost, flexible and wireless solution to the home automation.
B. Manageability (Scope and Limitation) The software has an authentication to the system for authorized person to access and control appliances in the house unit. Building automation may include centralized control of lighting, air-condition, electric fans to provide improved convenience, comfort and energy efficiency. The main control system will use wireless Bluetooth technology to provide remote access from Android phone or tablet.
