Brittney has been accepting of my mistakes as long as I have known her. The second time Brit and I started dating I was heavily into drugs and even though she did not like what I was doing she never lost hope in me. When I was finally sent away, she stayed in contact with my family for most of the time I was gone. When I got back she had faith in my staying sober when no one else did and she helped me get back up when I slipped. Sometimes when I get angry or frustrated I say things to her that I don't mean and even though they hurt her, she forgives me and understands that I don't mean any of it. This is important to me because I get in fights with my friends all the time but no matter what happens, we are always friends again the next day. It's the same with her. Brittney also accepts me for who I really am. I can be my true self around her and she does not mind at all.
In addition to being accepting, Brit is extremely fun to be around. On days when we have nothing to do, Brit and I will get in my truck and drive on back roads until we get lost which sounds boring but some how she makes it really fun. I think the reason that she is so fun to be with is because she can find the humor in any situation either by making a sarcastic joke, talking in one of her many goofy voices or by just yelling something random. I think that the reason Brit and I keep ending up together is because we are both goofy people and neither one of us are afraid to act ourselves around each other, which is why I also consider her my best friend. I always goof off and act stupid around my friends but all my other girl friends just sat there and laughed. I was too afraid to act myself around them but Brit is right there with my friends and I acting crazy.
Finally, she is loyal to me and always tells me the truth. When I got sent away Brit did some things that I would have rather she did not do, but when I got back she did not lie to me about what happened. She told me everything and I think that is one of the many reasons we got back together. Honesty is very important to me because it shows a sense of responsibility and trust. She also backs me up no matter what I'm saying or doing. She will tell me that I am wrong but she will help me anyway. No matter what is happening she is always there for me like a good friend.
I am very lucky to have Brittney in my life because I think that it is very rare for someone to love a person as much as she loves me and to be as good as a friend as she is. I hope that we last this time and that we will never stop having fun together.

She balances my sense of responsibility with her fathers crazy, outgoing silliness. This usually means that she starts off shy before breaking out of her shell to show her true fun-loving self. While she is always the first one of her siblings ready for school every morning and always has her homework done before I ever get the chance to tell her to do it, she spends every ounce of her spare time goofing off with her sisters. Whether it is rolling around on the floor, chasing small children through the house, or giving them piggyback rides out of the kitchen so that I can make dinner without tripping over them. The one thing she is always sure to make time for is lending a hand if someone is in need. I cannot count the times that she has offered to make lunch or dinner (usually PB&J sandwiches or, more recently, top ramen) for herself and her sisters because she can see that I have a migraine. I remember dozing off an the couch one day, trying to make my head stop hurting, and waking up to my girls eating and a sandwich with my name on it. This is very typical of her behavior at school as…

Usamah seems to view them with mixed emotions. I think generally, he has a good relationship with the ones he’s grown to know. In fact, he even befriends one. What I find curious is that Usamah states, that the Frankish knight that befriended him, called HIM brother, and although he says there were mutual bonds, never refers to the knight as his brother. The Frank (knight) even went so far as to offer to take his son as squire and gave him the respect of honoring his mother’s wishes. Then, when he visited a Christian church and happened across some monks, he was blown away at their devotion and actually was disappointed that Muslims didn’t show the same reverence. With all of his positive experiences, however, he did have a few bad experiences with Christians, but they seem to be with the “newer” generation of Christians, in that they were “ruder” Over all, I think he respects the older generation but found the younger to be much worse and thus the cause of his mixed emotions.…

She means more to me than life itself because when all I wanted to do is give up she never let me go. I felt safe to open up to her without fear of judgement, but with understanding, support and love. She soon began to realize that I was not who she thought I was, but knew that we actually needed each other. She began to open up with me, starting to trust me like I trusted her. However, instead of walking away and leaving like most people would have, we stayed and pushed, supported, and loved each other through the many difficulties. Without my decision of wanting to be a cheerleader I would have never met her and at times I believe that without her I would not be where I am…

Many characters from the book Grounded by Kate Klise would all make great friends in real life. If I could choose a friend to have in real life from the book I would choose Aunt Josie. I have chosen Aunt Josie to be one of my great friends because she is funny when she dances to loud music, joyful when she plays music for the injured men and dances when she plants her seeds in the garden, and lastly when you need her, she will have your back like when Hattie was going to the terrible losses of her husband and kids. Aunt Josie is the type of friend that I want in my life because of her amazing qualities to have.…

My friend Liz is the most amazing friend anybody could ask for. We’ve been through so much together, we’re basically like sisters. We met on the first day of school in sixth grade, both of us terrified by the massive size of the middle school. She had the locker right above mine. I told her I didn’t know anybody in our class and she said “You do now.” We’ve been friends ever since. Most boys think Liz is cute. She has long red hair, cascading over her shoulders. She laughs about everything and when she does, you see about a hundred white teeth – so bright, you almost need sunglasses. When she laughs, her eyes grow wide, glowing emerald green. Liz likes to dress kind of skater-ish, in camouflage pants, sweatshirts, and wristbands. But, she’s unpredictable, too. Sometimes she’ll wear overalls or a fancy dress. She must have three closets full of clothes, because she barely ever wears the same outfit twice. Liz is the most lively, animated character I’ve ever known. She’s always rushing around, trying to get the latest scoop on everybody. It’s like she’s in the FBI. Right before she shares important news, Liz tosses back her hair, takes a deep breath, and quickly looks side to side, to be sure the coast is clear. She never says anything mean about people, she just wants to know what’s going on. She always supports me in everything I want to do. Not many girls in our group of friends play sports, but when I told Liz I wanted to go out for basketball, she said “Go for it.” Now, she comes to see almost every game I play and cheer me on. Not only is Liz a tremendous supporter, she also trusts me to give her my honest opinion and to say what I feel. Last year, she thought Mrs. Jones gave her a lower math grade than she deserved. I told her the truth – that Liz handed everything in late and what did she expect? Next marking period, Liz got her work in on time, and pulled off an A-. Thanks to me, she said. Liz is a wonderful…
