I found your Discussion Board Forum 4 post quite interesting. I didn’t agree with the post in its entirety. Opening a new business is hard work. Anyone looking into opening a business should thoroughly do their research. Betty has done some great ground work by researching a few franchises. The franchise concept is a great option for someone new to the business world. The franchisor usually continues to support the operation of the franchisee 's business by providing advertising, accounting, training, related services, and in many instances, products needed by the franchisee. (Satterlee, 2009). Betty would not be in business by herself. She would have professional advice throughout this journey. If Betty chose a sole proprietorship she would solely be responsible. Franchising means using a tried and tested formula to benefit from the experience and support of the franchisor (Schizas, 2013).I don’t agree that she shouldn’t employ Emma solely because of beliefs. Emma would be an employee not a partner. Emma is fully aware that Betty wants to run a Christian coffee shop. I would not choose Alice to partner, because of her husband’s firm beliefs that his wife should be at home. I would not want to start any family problems. However, I do believe that Betty’s husband could be her business partner. The financial contributions will assist greatly with Betty’s goals. I agree that Betty needs to consider other names for her business, because “The Gathering Place” was taken”. I think it is a great idea for her to name her business something that lets customers now that it is a coffee shop. Betty should look at the pros and cons of all the business types and go from there. Regardless of what decision Betty makes she needs to look to God for guidance to make the right decisions.…

Muslim immigration to America has been occurring for decades, and is not a new thing. However, throughout history the U.S. government has had trouble creating a sensible Muslim immigration policy. Currently, president Trump—a man with bold and controversial policies--has enforced a temporary ban on Muslims until the American government can create a valid immigration policy. American people are in turmoil while deciding whether or not they should allow the U.S. government to put restrictions on Muslim Immigration. Some Americans are concerned that Muslim immigration will jeopardize America's security, while others feel it is America's duty to be compassionate and welcome immigrants.…
Chesnutt began writing his stories after the popularity that Joel Chandler Harris received through his local-color literature stories of “Uncle Remus”. “The Goophered Grapevine” and “The Passing of Grandison” depicted how dialect speech was an integral part to the stories that were introduced to the readers. Both stories also are frame stories, a literary technique used by Chesnutt in which each story consists of a story within a story. Each frame story has an event that cause the main character of the story to take an action. In “The Passing of Grandison”, Dick made his mind up to free a slave owned by his family due to his desire to impress the girl that he loved. Stereotypes were also a big factor in Chesnutt’s stories. African Americans were still viewed as uneducated and unworthy to be in the same status like the white people. Women were regarded as weak, dependent, emotional, but at the same time they were pure and faithful as well. These were apparent in both stories and “The Wife of His Youth” too. The usage of irony is something that the readers can see a lot in the stories written by Chesnutt. In “The Passing of Grandison”, the master was adamant that Grandison would not run away from slavery when he was brought to other cities by his master’s son, Dick. He believed that Grandison was content and satisfied enough with his current state of his life that it would be impossible for him to flee. And Grandison exactly fulfilled the expectation of his master by being a faithful master, although he was given plenty of chances to run by Dick who desperately wanted him to be freed for the sake of impressing a girl that he was in love with. The readers probably though that it was the end of the story. However, an unexpected turn took place as soon as he got back to the plantation. Grandison took the perfect opportunity for him and his family to run away from the bondage of…
When discussing the topic of teasing, there are a lot of things to consider in respect to when it is considered appropriate or inappropriate. So much of what is considered appropriate is usually between people who have a mutual understanding or a friendship. Most of the time teasing is used in good humor to make each other laugh, or to jab at someone in a friendly manner. When friends or people who are close tease one another, usually there are areas that are considered off limits or things that are considered bad taste to bring up.…
Who has manipulated my mind in relation to reality? I believe that society has manipulated my mind in relation to reality in some way because I think that reality is just a state of mind. The physical aspect of the things I can see, touch, taste, etc. make me believe that everything I encounter is factual. Also society says to believe only what you believe to be real and don’t believe in fantasy because you have no physical connections to imagination.…
Today, I went with Steven Campos to a coalition meeting at Christ Hospital. This was my first coalition meeting besides the YCP (Youth Crime Prevention) coalition meeting. This coalition meeting was extremely educational and useful. During this meeting, I have learned about the Restorative Justice (RJ) System. According to Steven Campos presentation, RJ offers victims a highly participatory process by focusing on the victim’s needs such as letting them tell their story by being heard in the community, participating in discussions about how to resolve their problem and letting the victim’s receive information about the circumstances of the crime.…

According to an article written by Ben Brumfield and Chris Boyette from CNN, “Text a driver in New Jersey and you could see your day in court.” Texting someone while they are driving a vehicle could result in a lawsuit against the person texting for damages up to $150,000. How can texting someone while they may be driving be held against you? What if the message was delayed somehow and didn’t get to them until after they were driving? How would you know if they were driving before you sent the text? Wouldn’t it be the driver’s responsibility to make the choice to look at their phone?…
