The board may think that their protecting the morals of teens. They may even say that this is to protect their innocence. Funny how they ban a book that instils the same lesson. Banning books like Lee’s, because they cause people to open their eyes, and see the world in a new perspective is ludicrous. The States Board of Education is only creating a false reality. However, I can’t imagine these simpletons seeing what Lee’s work really inspires. What they fail to see is that this book teaches the values of family, friendship, the strength to keep fighting a seemingly impossible battle, and courage. I didn’t know that these were such terrible values for a high school student to read about.
