We don't like admitting that we were wrong about the big things anymore because we as a society are basing our arguments based on emotions not so much on facts anymore. The best way to improve ourselves through avoid some of the mistakes that limits us to be open minded is to respect the facts and not believing on personal feeling, and most importantly to correct the mistake.
