As in the article, Natalia Szurawski saved here friend by telling her parents their daughter’s plan to commit suicide. If she hadn't told anyone her friend probably would not be alive today. Some people tell in order to save lives because someone they know is about to do something drastic like Matthew's story. In the article, Matthew Garrett overheard a plan of a school shooting. Some states have law to where if your friend gets alcohol poisoning and you call the law and stay till they get there you will not go to jail for it. If the boys in the article would have known about the law their friend would still be alive. In the article it talks about how a boy named Brett lost his life due to alcohol poisoning. If only one person would have known Brett could still be alive. This is a prime example of people not doing the right thing and showing their selfishness. If a person has been arrested and decides to tell information on his accomplices would then have a possible lighter punishment or get off scot free.
And finally a reason why people should tell is because without people telling others are not getting the help they need. As in the article 70% of people that commit suicide tell someone or show signs. This means that if someone tells every time we hear or see the signs many people would still be alive today. So by telling or being a “whistleblower” people people with serious problems can get the help they need. And If someone is planning to commit suicide, if they tell someone, they can get counseling or
