European settlement and native displacement in North America was a turning point in America because it put history into several different perspectives. It gave us historical crossroads and gave us the opportunity to have a turning point. We were able to see through the eyes of colonists, natives, the free, the unfree, and the enslaved. During this long period of time, we could see their perspectives during certain chapters in early history, such as the Bacon rebellion and the Kings Phillips War. This gave us a big overview of other cultures rather than just the European arrival, contributing to our understanding of this period of time, making a turning point in America, showing us different perspectives, and changing the way we as a nation handle issues and debates on issues like land, labor, Republican government, and democratic practice. …show more content…
You could’ve been pitted against the king and parliament if you were a colonist, and if you were obviously opposed to this declaration of independence, you were called a loyalist, even splitting people's families in to different opinions, as shown with Abigail Adams when she embraced her revolutionary values and raised her question and possibility of removing women's legal disabilities from her husband; one of the chief architects dismissed her prospect.
