"To Work or Not to Work"

To work or not to work--That is the question:
Whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to tolerate
The insults and complaints of the impatient customer,
Or to renounce against the sea of demands that arise,
And by quitting, have peace? To leave; to quit--
To work no more-- and by quitting say we end
The head-aches, and the wrath of unforgiving customers
That this job entails--‘tis an accomplishment
Devoutly to be wish’d to end. To leave, to quit— To quit; perchance to remain unemployed. Ay, there’s the rub;
For in that defiance what jobs may come,
When we have been freed from the endless shifts,
Attempting to find a better one, there’s the disadvantage
That makes us think twice about leaving.
For who would endure the stress and demands of it,
The full buss tubs, the empty coffee urns,
The stack of order tickets, the cook’s delay,
The supervisor’s laziness, and the compliments
That directly go to those unearned,
When they are owed to someone else
With real work ethic? Who would withstand these conditions,
To run around and sweat after an exhausting day of school,
But that the dread of working eight hours,
The unappreciative managers, from whose pressure
No employee shall return, except to earn the money,
That makes us rather bear those troubles we have
Then to eagerly apply to other businesses that we know not of?
This reflection does make us all complacent,
And thus the familiarity of repetition
Is nulled over without any more thought,
And the want for another job is cast aside
With this regard it will be thought on another time
And thus mean while live to work another day.
