Currently Todd has found himself specializing in live music coverage. He shoots bands live, as well as doing some promotional pictures for artists of any genre. He also has his own website based on his work, which includes many examples
of his live work, and promotional work.
So far in his career Todd has had the honor of photographing such bands as The Police, Bruce Springsteen, Radiohead, Metallica, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nine Inch Nails and Tony Bennett. Some of his work has been in very established publications such as Rolling Stone, the New York Times, Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, Alternative Press, The Boston Globe, Harper’s Bazaar, and SPIN. Clients include Atlantic Records, Live Nation, Dave Matthews Band, the Dresden Dolls, and Semi Precious Weapons. Todd graduated from Washington University in St. Louis magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Visual Communications. Currently Todd photographs concerts anywhere from four to 6 nights a week. “I strive to realize a unique style emphasizing exacting composition, attention to gesture, and a keen consideration for lighting. Driving each of these core elements is desire to create definitive images that are backed by a highly technical execution. I work almost exclusively with the available stage lighting in my live music photography, preferring to capture the unique look and feel of each event as closely as possible.” Todd searches to capture the moments of a concert that really define the show in itself. He captures anything from a singers pause between a song to the guitar player grabbing the spotlight during a solo. There is no question that Todd is one of the most talented music photographers around, and will continue to be one of the most saught after photographers in the world today.
