The novel Tomorrow when the war began is written by john Marsden. It is about seven normal teenagers that decide before commeration day they are going to plan a trip to Hell. When they come back everything has changes they have been invaded by a foreign country and there is nothing they can do. Hell is an important setting In the novel because we see characters changing, especially Fi.

Another point that showed the comparison from the start of the novel to the end is when Fi first went to hell.Fi was known as the graceful girl living in a big expensive house in the town of Wirrawee.We know this because the first time they all went down to Hell Fi bought all of her gear like PJ's ,makeup, robe and a pillow and by the end of the novel she said "I don't think i can go back there after all that has happened."This told us that being in Hell having to fend for herself changed her into a girl who will fight no matter what for her friends and
