“ The Road Not Taken’, by Robert Frost is about a man who chooses one path but is curious and questions the other. The man feels a sense of regret later on in the poem because he would most likely never take the other path ever again. Two primary themes that are developed in this poem are no matter what you are doing in life you’ll be fine and to just go with it because you can’t go back in time.
“I shall be telling this with a sigh” (Frost,16). This states how the man was telling it with such sorrow because he could have taken the other path but again will never get the chance to take it. So, the speaker's tone is very sad and regretful. “Sorry i could not travel both” (Frost,2). This is an example of ethos and states
that he will never get a second chance at going down that other path which he never took.
The author’s organization within the text is vague. For Example, “And both that morning equally in leaves no step had trodden black” (Frost,11,12). He is uncertain what road to take. “I took the one less traveled by” (Frost,19). This is example of logos is he obviously took the wrong road but accepts it.
The author’s style is perplexing or very puzzling.”Two roads diverged in a yellow wood” (Frost 1). Frost is describing that the roads are practically the same but can’t travel both. “And sorry I could not travel both” (Frost, 2). Pathos is created when the reader feel pity for Frost. In this case we sympathize Frost when he cannot take both paths as we would like him too.
Life holds many decisions for people. some choices may result in positive outcomes and others might result in negative, however the only way to know the full outcome is to pick a decision and follow it through. I learned that you can’t hold back on your decisions in life because they have already been made. The cannot be changed anymore, you have to live with what you chose.
