Toni The Superhero By R. D. Base
Toni the Superhero is a children’s book written by R.D.Base. In simple, easy-to-understand sentences, the author has shown that kids today can be superheroes by doing ordinary everyday things. This book has small sentences which is perfect for any child learning to read and for any preschool teacher teaching their students to read. The activities depicted are very relevant to the kids of today.

The main character, Toni, is depicted doing daily chores and has regular hobbies. He plays games, read books and swims. He also helps out his mother at home, dusts, sweeps and eats vegetables. All these actions are shown as “superhero” ones and “cool” things to do by illustrating that Toni does it with a superhero attire. The drawing, dancing and singing activities encourage art and creativity while the playing, jumping, swimming and running activities motivate kids to participate in physical outdoor activities.

The illustrations enhance the deeper meaning of the simple sentences. Toni eating dinner is not just him eating a meal. The supporting image shows him eating a variety of vegetables and kitchen counter has fruits placed on it. Toni dancing with his mom emphasizes on the importance of spending time with family. That being said, the illustrations could be better. The illustration for the eating scene could be more

I liked that a lot of different activities were encouraged by the author to the young readers. Sleeping is as important as physical outdoor activities and eating vegetables. The sentences were as small as possible consisting of only a subject, verb and object. This is perfect for the target audience of children who are just starting to read and for teachers who teach students of that age. The illustrations require modifications. The issue I mentioned in the dining room image is there in a few other images also in the book. It is easier to follow a plot if the supporting images are as realistic to the plot as

The idea of superheroes is surprisingly well fitting in this era, as it lies during a time of lies, anxiety and propaganda. Superheroes represent a symbol of hope that citizens were able to look up to, when normal humanity had devastated itself in the destruction of war. The helplessness and paranoia of the time had influenced not only the people of the time, but also the literary works.…

And, they also help the viewer grasp the intended message easier. Without the pictures, the video would be bland. Each of the pictures correspond to the words written across the scene. Notably, the picture of the dandelion being blown apart relates to Finny’s dreams being torn apart after breaking his leg. And, gears only turn if another gear is attached to it, therefore that scene is used to show Finny’s codependency on Gene. Also, to display identity crisis, a man with a question mark and a face with a finger print is used. The intent for the illustrations is for viewers to connect them to the…

It's important to recognize yourself as a writer before beginning to project yourself to an audience. As evident by the papers read recently in class and every English 101 course you hear about, the literacy narrative serves as any writer's introductory assignment, and it is rightfully so. The project is to analyze how literacy has been shaped by exploring reading, writing, and spelling struggles or triumphs from your past. Famous authors may use this to help their audience get to know them, but college students striving to fulfill a core requirement can use it to help better themselves as writers. Whether it be an untraditional means of education, an outspoken minority, or a "door breaking" point of view the topic appeals to an audience as it delivers the promise of understanding the author and whatever other topical issues the narrative brings along with it.…
