Toothbrush Manufacturing
ICA02_Introduction Toothbrushes have come a long way over the centuries. Since 3500 BC, people around the world have been using tools to clean their teeth. Egyptians and Babylonians made brushes by fraying the end of twigs. In the 15th century, the Chinese invented the first toothbrush by attaching bristles from pigs’ necks onto a bamboo handle. The design was adapted by Europeans, who modified the design using soft horsehairs. Process selection In this case injection molding process is considered for manufacturing the brush handle and followed by other processes to complete entire the tooth brush First, The Materials Are Gathered The handles are made out of plastic and the bristles are made out of natural boar or synthetic fibres such as nylon.. The Handles by Moulding Plastic pellets are placed in a moulding machine, which melts the plastic. Rotating screws turn the liquid plastic into the moulds. Small “cores” are inserted into the handles which makes the holes, into which the bristles are later placed. The handle moulds are tightly clamped onto a pressuriser. This helps them to cool. Once they have cooled, the handles are pushed out of the moulds. The manufacturing of multi colour plastic tooth brushes slightly varies in the process as it has to be in multi colour, multiple materials has to be used to make the handle. Multicolor Molding There are different methods for multicolor injection moulding Double injection, two types of raw materials while injection into the mold cavity. The technology is usually based on pre-injection rate and geometry of the cavity to determine the material distribution and two kinds of raw materials in the mold point. When using this method requires injection presses with very high accuracy and excellent repeatability of each cycle. Some flexibility over the technology used for the injection occasions, such

Answer is easy. The manufacturer load toothpaste tubes from the flat end with parallel layers of paste and when you squeeze, the layers pass through the nozzle as stripes. According to Discovery Channel Documentaries, manufacturers used to put red paste (which is the stripe) in first. Then they would add the white paste on top. As you squeezed, the white paste would push through an inner tube, and be joined by the red coming through holes in the tube near the nozzle.…

    Evaluation on Anne Frank

In my research investigation of Anne Frank, the face of the Jews in the Holocaust, I found that she was just a normal Jewish girl going through the hardships of growing up. The fact that she was in hiding from the Nazi soldiers who were ruthless and blamed the Jews for their hardships, as well as the downfall of the First World War, made it extremely difficult for her and it was also what made her and her diary famous. I found that the internet was my main source in gathering information, while the books and film where useful, they were only useful to an extent. The internet provided me with primary and secondary sources of information that were relevant to all four of my questions. Her diary was also very useful giving me both primary and secondary, however I could not use all of her diary, so I picked out the most relevant and put it in my research investigation. The diary was useful in showing Anne’s perspective on the war and how she felt, which is great, however her diary was mostly just on the Annexe and how it was like and how she felt about living there. The film was based on her diary so they were both very similar. I know that the film wasn’t probably the best source because it was made to entertain the audience. However it gave me a perspective in how people from the 1950’s era viewed Anne, as the actors had to capture her emotion and feelings. With the internet source I was able to get an insight on the background of the Holocaust and why it started. My first focusing question, ‘what conditions forced Anne Frank into hiding and how did she find the strength to do it?’ the internet proved useful in gathering the facts and that initially it was only a matter of time before they went into hiding however because of one thing they were forced to go into hiding about a month or two before they had planned. The internet gave me all this information; however I admit that most of it was very similar and it did not give me an insight…

Each interview solidified my resolve to become a highly educated dental hygienist. Attending counseling appointments with Mr. Zach Woolfork, information sessions, Fight-On Fridays, open houses, and especially meetings with current students and alumni at USC, I felt reassured that it is the ideal educational setting for me.…

    Importance of Flossing

Before you begin your steps to oral care, take some time to test out the wide variety of floss. The two basic types are nylon and the single filament floss. The nylon floss is relatively inexpensive and comes in waxed or unwaxed varieties and several different flavors. However, the nylon floss is made up of several pieces of nylon thread woven together. Theses threads can shred or tear apart and get caught on sharp pieces of tooth. The single filament floss is a little more expensive, but it readily slides over even the most hard to reach places, and will never shred apart or tear while flossing. Dentists agree it really doesn’t matter what type of floss you use, and it may take trying some different kinds of floss before you find one that works for you. Using either type of floss regularly is going to have the same effect; it will remove the plaque and debris that your toothbrush missed from the area of your teeth and gums. If you have never used floss before, you will probably be astonished at everything your toothbrush misses.…
