PROJECT METHODOLOGY
This chapter explains the method that will be implemented in developing the Top Management Appointment System (TMVAS).
3.1 Methodology
Top Management Visitor Appointment System (TMVAS) will implement the revised waterfall model approach of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Bomarius et al., (2009) stated that Walter Royce’s article in 1970 is the first publication on the waterfall model. Waterfall model is seen flowing steadily downward resemble water cascading down a series of steps. In this approach, there are five phases involved that are requirements, design, implementation, testing and documentation. Figure 3.1 illustrates the revised waterfall model. Figure 3.4 describe the use case diagram of Top Management Visitor Appointment System. There are three type of actor involved in the systems which are top management, visitor and Auxiliary Police Officer. Top management need to login to access the system. Top management need to schedule their appointment by setting date and time especially. They can view the detail of their visitor. They need to verify the appointment before the visitor come to UITM Kedah. Besides that, top management also will receive the notification about the arrival of their visitor.
Visitor need to fill in few information details before make an appointment to any top management. They also can check their approval and cancel the appointment by visit again the system. They need to confirm their arrival at Auxiliary Police Officer Post before entering the UITM Kedah.
Before access system the Auxiliary Police Officer need to login first. Where they will able to view or check the incoming visitor. After the checking the system will sent Short Message Services (sms) to top management.
3.2.2.2 Activity
