The potential consequences of Steven's academic dishonesty were that he might be expelled from the school and won’t be able to graduate from that university. Since the professor is mentioning the problem to the dean department, there might be losing credit for that course or might be probation. What would you do if you were in a similar situation as Steven?
If I were in a similar situation I would think about the consequences hundred times before I do such think. I would rather tell and explain to the professor my situation and see what would happen because now Steven might face a more serious problem than losing credit.
