The genesis and growth of a group always goes through five stages: forming, storming, norming, performing and adjourning. Forming is always the first stage, where the group members meet for the first time and roles as well as structure and purpose are not firmly established. This stage closes when the individuals label themselves as a group. Appropriately named, the storming stage is defined by intragroup conflict in the areas of limited autonomy and leadership, and is a critical in group development. The resolution of this stage comes with a visible leader along with rankings of group members. After the dust has settled, the norming stage begins with development of cohesiveness, close relationships, and ends when organization of the group solidifies into expected roles and behaviors. Actual group function starts in the performing stage where the group is wholly accepted and can begin working toward the task that was assigned. Adjourning is when the task is completed, and the group disbands.…

The tornado that happened in Dupree occurred in June of the year 2010. It was a regular day, the wind was blowing, there were lots of rain coming down, and it was cloudy. Well that was what we thought, because there was no tornadoes that happened in Dupree for a long time. Before my family and I got a chance to make even dinner, the first tornado whistle came on. My family and I went in the truck to see where it was or see if we could spot a tornado. After scouting for a bit, we took off and went back home getting ready in case the tornado actually did touch the ground and make it toward town. If I remember right, I think it was after the third whistle went off and that was when the first tornado was seen coming closer into town. That’s when…

I learned that warm water has the biggest affect on a tornado’s eye. My hypothesis is right! On thing that surprised me was that if the water was super hot, like 104 or 122 degrees Fahrenheit, the width of the tornado got smaller than water that was warm, like 86 degrees Fahrenheit. I never would have thought this would happen. I always thought that if the water was super hot than the width of the tornado would be super wide, but I guess I was wrong. If I would do this again I would try it with regular ice and see if the tornado would still form. Or I would try it in many different size boxes and see what would happen. So yes, the temperature of water would affect the width of a tornado’s…

Several years ago, Acme Mineral Extraction Company introduced teams in an effort to solve morale and productivity problems. Acme used highly sophisticated technology, employing geologists, geophysicists and engineers on what was referred to as the brains side of the business, as well as skilled and semi-skilled labor on the brawn side to run the company's underground extracting operations. The two sides regularly clashed, and when some engineers locked several operations workers out of the office in 38 heat, the local press had a field day. Suzanne Howard was hired to develop a program that would improve productivity and morale, with the idea that it would then be implemented at other Acme sites.…
