After the Great Depression, individuals in Japan blamed their government for the economic problems in the country. Their economy had low economic growth, deflation, and their stock prices went down. Citizens in Japan turned to military leaders to take control of the government and eventually Hideki Tojo took over as Emperor of the nation. The nation was in a financial crisis and was in need of a leader who had the ability to enhance their economy. One of the main issues within Japan was not being able to stabilize their public debt. The inflation during this period of time was further putting the country into debt, and the government knew that changes had to be made in order to reduce the debt.
