Jem started drifting away from Arthur and his sister to go do things with Dill Harris. The quiet people in this town are all capable of doing very amazing things and they do but when they have everybody in the community talking bad about them and sp reading rumors that aren’t true.
The moral of the To Kill A Mockingbird is to treat one another fairly, equally and with respect. Nobody should be treated poorly because they are different from someone who’s higher up in the community. All the characters in this story all have a purpose in the story and they all respect others differently. Atticus Finch is one of these characters. Atticus defends an african american in court even though they know that Tom has lost he still goes ahead and tries it anyways because he respects him and the black townspeople.
In Atticus’ eyes everybody is equal and should be treated the same way. Atticus has a different part of mind when it comes to others like the lower people in the community are just as equal as the higher people in the community too. And Bob Ewell is an example of the people who disrespect whoever is lower than him or even the blacks.
