Good morning to my educator and follow classmates my topic for discussion is the true meaning of friendship in the world we live in today

Life's sloppy...You think you know how tomorrow's going to be, you've made your plans, everything is set in place, and then the unimaginable happens. Life catches you by surprise. It always does. But there's good mixed in with the bad. It's there. You just have to recognize it.”

The world has become much more interdependent so that our friends succeeding can now harm us as much as our enemies threatening, and our rivals collapsing can hurt us as much as their rising. It’s a world where a cheap YouTube video made by an individual can cause us so much trouble. People have also changed. Humans display dark qualities such as envy, greed, resentment, desire to dominate, Money crazy, Unreliability, these cause bad friendships which are also known as toxic friendships

Toxic friendships stresses you out, uses you, are unreliable, demand too much, and don't give anything back. After spending time in these sorts of friendships you are likely to feel bad about yourself instead of good. Your toxic friend might be someone who tends to be critical of you. Or they might be a friend who drains you emotionally, financially, or mentally, and they're not very good for you.

If you’re trying to work out if you are in a toxic friendship; there are a few things you can look out for.

Friendship is first and foremost an ideal, something to aspire to, much like wisdom. It is never fully attainable, at most we are offered brief moments to its truth and we should revel in it when it shows itself. Much like wisdom, the pursuit of it is noble, for instance you don’t break off everything because of one small fight. If that is the case then it would not be a strong relationship. One does not give up when things start to get rough, so the pursuit of an impossible goal, actualizing an ideal, is futile, but we become better people through the chase and that is what…

Respect for each another is imperative in a friendship. Everyone has secrets, so one should not press for answers when the other is clearly unwilling to share the information. If the person wants to share the secret, it is important to be a good listener. One should be responsible by never compromising a friend’s trust and revealing it to other people. In addition to being considerate of another’s privacy, a good friend should not be too judgmental. Although one should never be afraid to contradict a friend, as everyone is allowed to have his own opinion, he should be mindful of the friend’s feelings.…

Friendship is defined by Webster as the state of being friends, friendly relation, or attachment, to a person, or between persons. Webster further states that friendship can also be describe as affection arising from mutual esteem, good will, friendliness, and amity. Friendship is considered to be an essential aspect of everyone’s life, as we are not self sufficient in and of ourselves. Friendship, as the world sees it, is a bond between two individuals that should not involve betrayal but should exhibit each individual as being trustworthy and loyal. In many cases, friendships, despite their necessities, are either forced or morally required to end because several components of the friendship have been ruined. We have substituted face-to face encounters with Facebook, Twitter and other social networks. In William Deresiewicz’s, article “Faux Frienship”, he identifies friendship as “a high calling, demanding extraordinary qualities of character –rooted in virtue” and he supports this perception of friendship by historical events and comparisons of romantic partners, parents and children and friendship in the workplace.…

Friendship is a very powerful word. As children are growing up, their parents and family give them a taste of what friendship really is all about. Starting at a young age, it is smart for parents to teach children the significance of friendship. A friend should be someone who tells the other individual when they are doing wrong. They should influence them to do good, give them a shoulder to cry on, and be that person to talk to when sad. Friendships change over time as you move from childhood to adulthood, however, friendship exists in the positive relationships a person builds.…

What a true friend is not is also really important, some people think a true friend is one that barely talk to you unless they need something. If you think someone is your true friend look at how they treat you if they call you out on your flaws or the way you dress they probably aren’t a true friend or a friend at all for that matter. If you do have a friend that you are always with but the conversation is always about them then the friendship is not a real one. If someone makes you feel bad about yourself its probably best if you stop talking to them. If your friend is talking behind your back and saying rude nasty comments that’s when you know the friendship is fake.…

A bad friend doesn’t have a problem lying to you or telling people your personal information. They have a negative attitude, they’re only there for you during good times, and they encourage you to do things that could get you in trouble instead of encouraging you to do things that will reflect positively in your life. A lot of the time with a fake friend you feel uncomfortable like they will be judgmental. Silences are awkward so you feel the need to strike up conversation with them, sometimes you feel as though your relationship is all one sided like you are making all the effort. They make up rumors weather they are true a real friend wouldn’t put you through the emotional pain with drama, often you agree with them no matter how you feel just to keep things civil.…

Number one is dishonesty. When friends become dishonest to each other, this will ruin the relationship. Trust is broken when the other is dishonest. Once the trust is broken, it is hard to put it back. Even if the other will tell the truth, if he once lied, he will be having a hard time to let the other person believe him. Dishonesty causes heart aches which will result to broken friendship. You don’t want to be associated with the person who hurts you so staying away from each other is the best way to heal the hurt. Jealousy is another thing that can cause break up of friendship. Some people are jealous when their friends join other circles of friends. They want to have them exclusively specially if they are already close to each other. When there is jealousy, there is quarreling. There is no peace in their midst because of ill feelings cause by jealousy and the result is one each way or they will separate ways.…
