Abstract
When I think of Toys "R" Us, I automatically think of children with huge smiles on their faces upon leaving the store. Every child knows what to expect when they walk in the doors of this retailer, the question is what do they want? Toys "R" Us is a known for having just about any toy imaginable, from Grandmas favorite toy to the newest and greatest invention. Their brand is known for providing a safe learning and play environment for those of all ages. I turn into a big kid every time I embark in this enchantment of toys. Toys "R" Us is and will continue to be the world's leading toy store as long as children exist.
I'm a Toys 'R' Us Kid When I hear the name Toys 'R' Us i think of a business that's guaranteed to put a smile on a child's face upon entering the parking lot, knowing they would be leaving with the latest toy. Having a strong brand recognition, there were no doubts that Toy "R" Us could continue their successful tradition by holding on to their vision, which is to "put joy in kids' hearts and a smile on parents' faces", while providing the resources necessary to keep their kids safe. Toys 'R' Us like any other major incorporation has it's strengths and weaknesses, which I will be examining in this paper.
History
Toys “R” Us initially started after the baby boom generation in 1948, by Charles Lazarus, known as “Childrens Supermart” a baby furniture retailer. It then became “Children’s Bargain Town” in Washington, D.C. where he filled the store with cribs and baby furniture and ran it all by himself. Charles Lazarus was only 25 years old and turned his dream of creating a child-oriented business into reality. Although the baby furniture industry was a success, customers were constantly asking “Where are the toys?” Charles Lazarus listened to the customers demand and added the cradle gym as the first toy to his inventory. Charles noticed that unlike baby furniture,
