CHAPTER 1
THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
Introduction
SEED Academy is an integrated night school supervised by Southville International
School and Colleges (SISC). SEED Academy is a proud member of Southville Global
Education Network. Graduates adopt the 5Cs culture of Southville International School which is Character, Competence, Collaboration, Creativity and Commitment to achieve.
The 5Cs culture is considered to be a great factor to be competitive in working industry.
Curriculum is being accredited by Technical Education and Skills Development
Authority (TESDA). The Philippines ' Technical Education and Skills Development
Authority, abbreviated as TESDA, is an agency of the Philippine government under the
Department of Labor and Employment responsible for managing and supervising technical education and skills development in the Philippines. Students finish more or less than 24 units per semester. Graduates finished 48 units after one year in
Information Systems Technology and 96 units in two years after graduation in
Information Systems Management. Major courses of each programme are subjected to advance in technology which is capable for modern demands. The study targets on graduates from SEED Academy in able to identify the professional status, employer’s company name, salary range and the subjects that helped them the most in their employment. According to the research of Valenzuela,et al. (2012), studies have shown that employers, at least those from the private sector, tend to look for more than the

educational credentials. For them, education should be viewed in the broader sense, with learning not confined to what is learned from the book; rather it entails the development of higher cognitive abilities and applicable transferrable skills,
