My recommendation GNF Security is to use a Traditional Organization Structure (see Appendix A) because it is a company that is starting. In using this structure, we will have more basic structure with the necessary departments to begin this company and not be overstaffed, which will create more spending in the company rather than profits. One of the benefits of using this will be that we will have an organized structure where the managers can directly speak with executives instead of dealing with third parties, if they have questions someone will be next door. There is also a better job specialization where managers have advanced or specific knowledge of their departments which can benefit the company because it will result and accurate information.
One of the most important department that we have is the Human Resources department because they are the ones that all managers deal with and turn for support. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, some of the duties that are involved in this department are to “plan, direct, and coordinate the administrative functions of an organization… overseeing the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new staff; consult with top executives on strategic planning; and serve as a link between an organization’s management and its employees” ("What human resources," 2012). Human Resources department is also in charge of providing benefit information to managers and hourly employees. In Appendix B you will find a sample job description for this department to better understand their role in the company.
Overall, a traditional organization structure will benefit GNF Security and will help managers gain more knowledge in their fields but also focus on their departments to perform their job to the fullest. It is an organizational structure that can easily expand as the company grows adding more managers as the business grows. References
