Traditional Schools vs. Year-Round Schools

The word traditional means to follow older styles and year round schools mess with these systems. A reason to support this is that it costs more to run year-round schools due to air-conditioning bills and other expenses. Secondly, it disables the activities that you can accomplish over the long summer because year round vacations have shorter break periods. Lastly, it forces parent to take time off from work or even leave their child unattended. Even if people claim that year-round schools are better they are not wrong because it helps schools save money, but how can they save money if they have to waste it on transportation and A.C. bills. Whats at stake here is the education of our future kid’s generation. Overall, traditional schools have more advantages over year round schools because it cost more to run, disables the amount of activity they can accomplish over year round school’s breaks, and forces parents to take time off from work, also they have lower operating costs but how can they save if they are losing money.
Even though there are benefits of having school all year long, there are also disadvantages, one of the disadvantages is that it costs more to run year-long schools.

, “it costs more to run year-long school’s because it has higher operating costs, extra transportation costs, air-conditioning bills and other expenses”. This demonstrates that if schools were year-long they would be opened in the summer and the air-conditioning would have to be on all the time due to the hot weather, so all the energy that it’s using causes the bill’s to go up. Another example for this would be the transportation. Schools are going to have to get metro cards so that the students can get to school so schools are gonna have to get even more cards and when the cards expire new ones are gonna have to replace the old cards. Therefore if the school is gonna be opened all year long they’ll have to get more metro-cards than usual and that would cause the bills to go up as well. A final example is that if the schools are gonna be in

session longer than the operating costs would add to the extra bills.This evidence makes it clear that school’s should not be year-round.
Although it might seem a good idea at first, year round schooling is not something to agree on. According to article #1 many students do extracurricular activities such as sports over the long summer break but the National Education Association” states that year rou nd schools interfere with these activities due to the fact that the breaks are oddly scheduled for kids to do long term sports. In addition these activities boost confidence, self esteem, and friendship but without these sports they will lack in these criteria. In article #3 the text implies that “since most people travel over the long summers they will not be able to travel with the short summer provided in year round schools and less travel will hurt the economy”. Lastly, article #4 states “since parents send their child to summer camp, daycare, or other programs over the long summer, the short breaks in year round schools will cause camps and day cares to not accept them because of the on and off period that they will attend those programs”.

Schools should not be year-round because, it forces parents to take time off from work, lineup for childcare for a long time, or even leave their children unattended at home.
This causes parents to not be able to properly care for their children since they cannot raise them normally or go to work everyday to earn money so, being in a year round school would put a heavy burden on not only the parent, but also the child. When parents leave children at home, it also causes them to not be able to develop mentally.These details demonstrate and clearly show that schools should not be year-round because it hardly benefits the parent or child.
According to the people that support year round schools, you claimed that
“Multi-track systems in year round schooling can significantly save money if it is used in place of building costly new school facilities.”
My point is that the reason you stated is true but, year round schools have higher operating , air conditioning bills, and other costly expenses. My point is that you are saying that year round school multi track systems save

money but at the end of the day, money is not being saved because you are spending money on these other expenses. So how will you save money for these school facilities if you're spending your extra money on these bills and expenses?
In conclusion, the evidence above supports the claim that traditional schools are more efficient and less expensive than year round schools. We think that this is also better because for one, it saves schools a lot of money and year round schooling doesn't give enough time to do extra curricular activities and it forces parents to take time off of work and leave their children unattended at home. Studies may show that children in year round schools perform better academically by a small increase but, year round schools are basically forcing them to learn over the time they are supposed to be relaxing at home enjoying their summer. Therefore, traditional schools are more superior than year round calendar schools. So the point is traditional schools have more virtuous advantages over year-round schools.
