The Junagadh – Bhavnath road is an important road connecting GirnarTaleti with Junagadh. On this road before “DAMOKUND” Sonrakh river is crossing the said road and at the crossing, the masonary arch bridge was constructed in old state time, with right angle curve.
The existing bridge was constructed in old state time, with W.S. bellamasonary with arch having 3 spans. At present the distance between two wheel guards (carriage width) is about 8.10. The existing bridge is with belamasonary arch bridge in old state line, which seems to be narrow and due to this in “SHIVRATRI MELA” and “GIRNAR PARKRAMA” and due to bottle neck at bridge site, even pedestrian traffic is difficult to pass from bridge site. Due to this in last “SHIVRATRI MELA” pedestrian traffic stopped and 6 people was died and more than 30 people injured at this Pajnaka Bridge site.
So widening becomes necessary for this bridge. Hence we did survey on “SHVRATRI MELA” when traffic is maximum in a year, and calculated that how much widening is required for PAJNAKA bridge.
