I agree with you Dr. Jennings, I need to be assure safety for the persons I am planning to invite as participants. During the past couple of days I have been conducting academic research on interviewing victims of trauma. This information was intended to be included on my first post for week 5. I have learned about trauma-informed care in behavioral health services in order to acknowledge the role of trauma in the person's life and I am also learning about trauma-informed criminal justice responses which increases safety during the interaction with the victim of trauma preventing re-traumatizing the person during the interview, I am thinking about getting training in trauma-informed criminal justice responses. …show more content…
There is no need for me to ask specifics about the traumatic event. They may mark the nature of the event from a list of types of trauma, that would be the only question related to the source of trauma I should as, unless you consider I should not include this information. The only topic for focus groups and interviews will be resiliency and culture influence on managing stress. I am planning on asking Dr. Vargas with guidance in this area.
