Korea is an East Asian country that is currently divided into two separate sovereign countries, North Korea and South Korea. North Korea is officially called the Democratic People’s of Korea, and South Korea is officially called the Republic of Korea. The population of North Korea and South Korea varies a lot. North Korea has a population of 25 million, South Korea has a population of 50 million. In North Korea the largest city Pyongyang has a population of 3,255,388, and in South Korea the capital and the largest city Seoul, with a population of 9,794,307. Both South and North Korea are homogeneous country. Though there are 440,000 Chinese, and 117,000 other residents from other countries in North korea, and 600,000 residents from other countries in South Korea. Korean is the official language both in South and North Korea. But in North korea the language is called Chonsonmal, or more formally, Chonsono. In South Korea, the language is most often called Hangungmal, or more formally, Hangugeo or Gugeo. On the other hand, in North Korea korean people in the former Soviet Union, who refer themselves as Koryo-saram and the language Goryeomal. The religion in North and South korea also differs. North Korea is officially an atheist state in which much of the population in nonreligious. However traditionally religion in North Korea primarily consisted of Buddhism, Confucianism and Korean shamanism. In South Korea the predominant religions are the traditional Buddhist faith and a large Christian popularity, though as in North Korea a large segment of the population is not religious. In North korea Christianity is the minority, just 1.7%. Opposite the North Korea in South Korea we have Christianity the majority, in percentage 41%. Though South and North Korea are separated from each other, in both countries live Koreans. Just South Korea is more developed, than the North one. Both Countries are beautiful in their own way.     Korea lies in the eastern part of Asia. This peninsula is divided into two countries: North Korea and South Korea. Although there is a division of landscape, government, and culture, the bulk of people in Korea consider themselves a part of the Korean nation.
