In the story, a single shard, the character tree ear possesses many character traits and strengths. One character trait he possesses is he has integrity. On page 5, tree ear shows integrity. One example is, " Honorable sir, as I walked behind you, I noticed that you are making your path with rice." This shows integrity because tree ear could have waited till the farmer left to pick up all the fallen rice or tell the farmer he had left a path of rice. He chose to tell the farmer about the rice and that shows integrity because he was being honest. On page 136 another quote was mentioned. " On my way here, I was set upon by robbers. They destroyed my master’s work" This shows integrity because he didn't lie to the emissary about how the vases
