Scotland's Lochness is 1000 feet deep and 24 miles long and people believe that there is an unidentified monster living in it named Nessie.
It all started in 1933 when it first spotted and it has become and international media star
There is no other monster as popular as this one
Nessie has beem featured in hundreds of magazines and news articles
The reason why it remains so popular is because people are still claiming that they see it till this day
Nessie's the reason why Scotland attracts so many tourists and people really believe that it actually exists
There is no solid evidence that Nessie is real (people see it, take pictures, never catch it)

Article about a 50 year old man who thinks that the random wave in the still waters of Lochness was caused by the sea monster.
He claims it was a solid black object
He swears that it was Nessie but he just happened to be observing the wave out of the corner of his right eye so who knows?
He says it's something he can't explain and the Lochness monster has been a subject of mass debate when it first came to the worlds attention 80 years ago.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/10355915/Best-ever-photograph-of-Loch-Ness-monster-revealed-as-a-fake.html
Another article featuring a photograph of a man who was standing next to “Nessie” with his hands touching its back.
It showed that the monster curved, brown with a long spine.
People thought it was the best photo ever taken of it. (close up and high quality)
But the photo ended up being fake and the man was trying to have a some fun.
He admitted that it was just a carbon fibre bump.
He did this because he was sick of the experts and there theories
He mentioned something important, if it wasn't for the “surgeon photograph” would people still care as much about the monster.

There have been many legends and myths surrounding wild men in the woods. However, none of these other creatures compare to Bigfoot. Over time, stories about Bigfoot have entered oral tradition and become part of regional folklore. Since 1904, people have claimed to see this creature. In 1904, sightings began in Oregon where settlers along the Sixes River claimed to have witnessed and every since then, sightings have been reported from every corner of North America. Although there are many sightings being reported, bigfoot has sparked debate and led to many questions regarding the proof of it. Is Bigfoot real, or is it all in my imagination?…

On the open polar sea by Colin Dickey gives us a preview of how after so many years of exceptional discoveries and daring adventures it appeared as though anything was possible, and one could gain honour, respect, and in a way immortality by becoming an adventurer and exploring the unknown world, however this mentality eventually led to individuals taking massive risks with return in many cases they had negative consequences such as humiliation, shame, death, and eventually the disillusionment of an entire generation. Colin Dickey describes the north sea with a sense of magical realism as a way to convey how mysterious it must have been to those who witnessed it many years ago such as John Franklin it is…

In 1971, biologist Roger Payne set out on what would be the first of many trips to Argentina. It was on one of these trips that Payne came across a female white whale and moved in close. "She was asleep," he recalls, "but after a while she opened her eye and looked me over. You would see her eyeball rolling in her head and then she closed her eye again. Basically, the whale was just saying, Well, if you've seen one of us, you've seen them all."…
