True Colors Personality Test
Taking the True Colors Personality Test I found out my color is blue. The personality of people with a blue tends to have issues in being a lone and having the attention of others. They tend to be emotional and have great empathy of others. This is great to have for me working in the medical field as a nurse assistant. I know how to care for my patients and know how to carry certain empathy for those in need for someone to care and listen. I would love that type of care in return if I or a family member were in the hospital.
The skills I need to work on to be better prepared for a nursing career would be procrastinating with my work and learn how to not let everything get to me. My procrastination is horrible for school and I do not want to

There are many traits which I have that co-respond with the blue card. Sympathetic is a key trait in which I use when describing myself to others. When I watch movies, I put myself into various characters positions and I tend to cry if they are put in or dealing with stressful situations. I find myself doing this not only with fictional characters, but with my friends as well. Another trait from the blue card in which I associate myself with is enthusiasm . I tend to become very excited about various events. I believe that compassion walks hand in hand with sympathy therefor I believe I am compassionate as well. As I mentioned, I cry when my friends or fictional characters are put in stressful situations. In addition to crying, I try my best to help or pretend to help with the situation. I give my best advice and give them an example of how I felt in a similar situation and how it turned out. I like to believe it helps them in one way or another. . I enjoy talking about my past experiences, my life journey, and anything in between. There are many more traits from the blue card that I associate myself with, however these 4 are the words I found to be the most obvious.…

These study skills will help me during my work as note taking and self-research is what I have learnt myself and will always have to look back on if needed. Learning the qualities of being a professional practitioner will help me during my work as I know what I can and cannot do whilst around children and young people. Being an effective team play or individual worker will help me as I will be working with others, but also will be a confidence boost for myself. As an individual worker, this shows that this is one of my strengths and that I feel comfortable with which way I work or who I work with. Time management is a key study skill. This means that I will not be holding back the children’s and young people’s learning, and that I will also be setting a good example to the younger ones. Presentation skills are also needed in near enough everything you do. Even if the practitioner is just explaining something, s/he is still presenting herself and the way she speaks to the…

To be a registered nurse certain skills are very important. Abby talked about how time management is one of the most important skills there are. If a nurse does not have good time management they will fail at some of the tasks that are crucial. For example, turning your patient every two hours to prevent bed sores, failing to give the patients medication on time can have terrible results, not bringing a patient meal on time, and that is only a few examples. Another skill nurses need to be able to do is prioritize. They need to be able to pick out the most important cases and treat that patient first before the minor ones, such as treating a stab to the abdominal region or putting a cast on a broken arm. Nurses need to know the medications and their side effects. If they give a patient has a reaction to somethings they need to be able to see which side effect they are experiencing from what…

Nursing is much more than a job; it is a lifetime career path. One does not step lightly into the field of nursing just to further their financial gains. As quoted by Florence Nightingale, “Nursing is an art… it requires an exclusive devotion as hard a preparation, as any painter’s or sculptor’s work; for what is the having to do with dead canvas or dead marble, compared with having to do with the living body, the temple of God’s spirit?” Developing the art of nursing requires commitment and planning. A professional development plan for a nurse is essential to guide the nurse successfully throughout his/her career.…

But when reflecting on what I do that is just nursing I feel that those things are the things that I have to do to maintain my job. Those things involve following a doctor’s orders, giving and receiving report, charting, and following my hospital’s policies. The things that are just nursing I feel are those things that you are trained to do. I feel that nursing school is a large part of learning what is “just nursing.” We learn how to assess, how to calculate drugs, how to hang IV fluids, how to start an IV all of those things that are necessary in clinical settings. We also must know what to do when certain situations arise such as an allergic reaction or a code. We have to be able to act and think quickly.…

I have always been the type of person to put my best efforts first, especially when it comes to helping other people. Since always feeling the need to help other people, I plan to pursue a career in healthcare and I dream of becoming a registered nurse to fulfill my desires to help people. Currently, I am striving to finish my prerequisite before I apply to Cecil's nursing program in the fall of 2017. During nursing school, I plan to continue working in the hospital environment of Upper Chesapeake Medical Center to be involved in a healthcare atmosphere. I find that being at the hospital provides myself with inspiration to excel in my academics. I take my current classes seriously since they are required and necessary to improve my knowledge…

I needed to decide on what kind of job I would enjoy as well as be skilled at. I love helping people and working closely with people, so I decided that a regular office job would not suit me. I need something to challenge me and hold my interest. My academic strong suits are science and math; it would be best if I chose a career that is science and math oriented. To help with the decision, I took the True Colors personality test. My results were Green, for my dominant color, and Blue and Orange were tied as my secondary color. My dominant color, Green, implies that I am analytical, abstract, curious and a complex thinker. My secondary colors, Blue and Orange, signify that I embody traits such as being energetic, hands on, nurturing, and honest.…

My first suggested trait involves being a little bit selfish. Selfishness is not your typical nurse quality. After all, you are a nurse so that you can help others. Simply asking yourself how I can benefit, every now and then can give you a new perspective that can change your environment. While nurses…
