Cucina Fresca pasta was successful for the following reasons:
1. They made significant research that lead them to find that since the 1980’s there is an increase of healthy gourmet food demand.
2. They also find out that since 1990’s consumer purchase groceries follow three trends: 1. Home Meal Replacement and semi-prepared option; dual-income households earn more but in counterpart they lack of time. In addition to that, they are seeking for variety, healthy, quick and easy food preparation so they might highly be interested in HMR and semi-prepared food.
Cucina Fresca Pasta is quick and easy to use.
2. The growth of Refrigerated fresh pasta; consumer seem to perceive fresh pasta as being tastier. So people welcome Cucina Fresca very well.
3. Growing awareness of the importance of whole grain food in the diet; people are aware that refined white-flour contains bad carbohydrates. But whole grain products are perceived as being less tasty than white flour, this could have been a drawback but in the case of Cucina Fresca this is their strength. Indeed, they are the only one being able to offer 60% to
100% whole grain fresh and tasty pasta.
3. They have the first mover advantage (new market opportunity); this helps them to establish a significant market share (strength in their distribution network), and at the same time to create customers awareness through the launching of a new brand: Cucina Fresca.
4. Their packaging contains useful information to customers such as advice on what is the best sauce to add.
