Trust Him Completely
As Christians, one the biggest struggles we face is putting our complete trust in God. We find this challenging because as human beings, we continually let one other down. When people in our lives hurt, disappoint or betray us, it becomes more difficult to trust in their love. As a result, we start believing that God will let us down also.
We must remember one important thing. God is not a human being. He is a spiritual who will never fail or forsake his children. He is always there to love, listen, and comfort us. In all circumstances and stages of life, wherever we may be, whether good or bad, God is there for us. When we place our wholehearted faith into his hands, God will always encourage and provide us with everything that we could possibly need or desire. We should never be afraid to call on God or to trust in His love for us. If we place our trust in Christ, we will begin to live life more fully and heighten our spiritual growth in the Lord.
God has a unique plan and purpose for each one of us. We should not be afraid to trust his guidance. For only God knows what is best for us. God loves all those who believe in Him. In addition, He will lead us down the right path if we are willing to trust His guidance. In all of life’s struggles and challenging situations, there is nothing that God cannot handle. For humans living in the modern technological world, we tend to prefer quick solutions to problems, immediate results and instant gratification. As a result, we find it particularly challenging to completely trusting God with our daily cares and concerns. We may be discouraged when God doesn’t provide us with exactly what we asked for and when we need it. God’s spiritual timing is much different than ours. At times, it may seem like he is unfaithful or doesn’t care about our needs. Bun in fact, the opposite is true. He wants to ensure that we are ready for the necessary life changes and adjustments which need to be made. God never

We all have had moments of tragedy and despair. It is in our darkest hour that many of us pray to God for comfort, I believe he answers our prayers when we are ready. We need to understand that asking God for material things will probably be ignored, that the greatest gifts we receive from God come from what we live and learn. For instance, my life was very difficult in many ways. I came from a home plagued by mental disease and addiction, it was a very lonely existence and I had often prayed for peace and to be loved unconditionally by another person. It did not seem like too much to want from life, however inside me grew resentment and anger. I was not ready to be loved or for a peaceful existence because I had not even loved myself. Over twenty years I lived my life angry at God for not giving me what seemed basic for most people and it consumed me to the point of near death. I saw what I had become, but now I had a child and I did not want her to feel the pain that I felt. If I did not change, it would just be repeating the vicious cycle. A very life altering decision was made and I began to heal from my past, but I still had a long journey ahead. I still felt lost and needed someone to understand. Finally I begged God to show me…

Selena and Marisa Navarro are prime examples of two women who experienced significant patriarchical constraints to their agency. This, however, did not stop them from negotiating and resisting these constraints in their own way and in their own life. Their stories are told through various mediums, including the movie Selena and the article "Becoming La Mujer" by Marisa Navarro. Selena's strongest patriarchical influence came from her father, who attempted to control various aspects of her life for many years. Navarro also felt the effects of constraint, but by both of her parents. Unfortunately, these women were victim to the "good girl" (virgin) and "bad girl" (whore) dichotomy, which embodies the impossible idea that women must be sexually attractive, yet unavailable. This not only further encourages the concept of patriarchy in a Chicana's life, but it also distorts the social construction of gender relations among women and men. Despite various influences and obstacles in these young Chicana's lives, Selena and Marisa still managed to achieve sexual independence. This independence was only one aspect of their identity, with the other major part being their personal agency.…

Sometimes we think that our plans must lead down a better road, or that God must not love us enough to protect us from this pain we feel, but God actually uses the painful experiences to further develop our character. Vivian Thomas could have given up when it became too discouraging, but instead he persevered and became an inspiration to many people. During times that are hard, God teaches us more about life, ourselves, and most importantly, about Him. Sometimes it is even necessary to go through a difficult time before we are able to realize the ways in which we need to grow and…

“I find hope in the darkest of days, and focus in the brightest. I do not judge the universe.” Words Elie Wiesel should have followed. He didn’t completely give up, but at the same time, it’s almost as if he did. He should have known that these things were happening for a reason, and with that reason god was slowly but surely going to make everything in the end all work out. Probably not in his upmost favor, but things would have worked out one way or the…

Christians are to have the right heart attitude when God allows trials in their lives. It is, however, very easy to respond in ways saying, “This is so unfair” and “Why me?!” But the Bible calls them to respond in a different way. The Biblical response to struggles is, “…[to] rejoice in our sufferings…” (Romans 5:3-4). Then James 1:2-4 says, "Count it all joy." Finally 1 Peter 1:3-7 goes on to say "In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though fire tests it—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Christians are to respond with a proper heart attitude towards God knowing that God is teaching them and growing…

All over the world, millions of people are suffering daily. Unfortunately, many of them do not know Christ and/or don’t have a way to get to know Him. That’s when it’s suitable to “let God.” I learned that the cliche phrase my Father recited wasn’t to control me, but rather, help me gain confidence in my faith. Being told I could and would not get into Palm Beach Atlantic propelled me to pray; a pastime I missed. Not to mention, I became motivated to become the hardworking person I knew I could be during my senior year. For a while, I stopped believing in my ability to have hope. By the time, I graduated high school I left with an immense sense of optimism. I made a change of course in my faith journey because I am not going to have a restricted future someone envisions for…

    My Personal Faith

My faith has enabled me to handle life challenges from my past and present. Some of these challenges have been series of events that I could hardly believe were happening, while others came with great joy. At five years old, my younger brother, Chandler, died unexpectedly. This was a tough challenge for my whole family to face. This challenge could have easily torn my family apart but together, as a team with God, we worked hard at picking up the pieces and moving forward even when there were days that seemed to be impossible. In the fifth grade, I was diagnosed with a common learning disability known as Attention Deficit Disorder. I am faced with this challenge on a daily basis. I have learned to cope with this disorder over the years by making prayer and patience priorities in helping me conquer this challenge. This challenge was especially difficult during my SAT and ACT tests. Certain scores on these tests were required to get into college and play NCAA football. The stress and pressure of taking these tests felt unbearable at times. While studying and before and during each test, I would remind myself that, through God, all things are possible. With God by my side, I was able to achieve the scores needed to reach my college and athletic goals.…
