Both Worlds Collide
Until Winnie Foster sees Jesse Tuck drinking from the spring. To keep her from telling the secret the Tucks temporarily “kidnap” her promising to take her back home once she understood the reason why she could not tell anyone about the spring. Soon trouble rises when the peculiar man in the yellow suit hears Mae Tuck telling Winnie about the spring. What will happen to the Tucks and Winnie? Read this book to find out.

My Opinion
This book was not one of my favorites because I like books that have more mystery and romance in them and Tuck Everlasting is a little more historical fiction.
Movie vs. Book
People always say the book is always better than the movie but in my opinion this was not the case with Tuck Everlasting. After watching the movie I was a bit disappointed that the book was not better. I actually liked the movie’s plot better than the book’s because of the following reason’s.
1. In the book Winnie is 10 turning 11 but, in the movie Winnie was 14 going on 15.I think that 15 was a good age for Winnie to because of the events that happened it seemed more likely for a girl who is 15 to experience all these things rather than a girl who was 11.

Tuck Everlasting has a lot of similarities between the book and movie. For example they have the same character names. Winnie Foster, Jesse Tuck, Mae Tuck, Miles Tuck , and Angus Tuck were some of the names. Also Winnie does not drink the water and dies in both the book and movie. In the scene Jesse drives in on his motorcycle and finds Winnie’s gravestone, saying that Winnie did not drink the water and died.…

The action shifts to Walden Woods, where Henry feeds an escaped slave, Henry Williams, on his way to Canada. The time shifts ahead, and Henry and Waldo argue about the fact that Waldo is not protesting the release of slaves like Williams, who has been shot. Henry accuses Waldo of not practicing what he preaches, and encourages Waldo, who has much more influence than Henry, to speak out against slavery and the war. Waldo hesitantly agrees,…

The spring is what makes the Tucks live on forever, because they drank from it. In the movie, it is just Miles that kidnapped Winnie(movie). Furthermore, there is another difference in the movie and book. At the end of the movie Mae and Angus Tuck are charged for kidnapping and are sent to jail, but in the movie only Mae Tuck was sent to jail. One quote from the book and movie is when Angus Tuck says to Winnie” Don’t be afraid of death, be afraid of the unlived life”. In conclusion, there are many differences, but those are just two.…

In the novel Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit, a girl named Winnie meets the Tuck family and she must decide whether or not she should drink from the magic spring and live forever. I believe that Winnie should not drink from the spring for many reasons. First of all, if she drinks from the spring and lives eternally, she will have to watch as all of her friends and family die as they age. Additionally, if she lives forever her life will lose its purpose. Also, if she doesn’t age, people will get suspicious of her and they will get scared and desert her. Finally, after she drinks from the spring she will stop growing and changing, like it says on page 63 “Left behind. And everywhere around us things is moving, growing, and changing”.…

Tuck Everlasting, a book that will leave an impression, is written by Natalie Babbitt, a person who shows the reader her determination to convey a beautiful fantasy while using figurative language to hold the readers everlasting attention. In my opinion, Tuck Everlasting is a lovely piece of art in the finest sense. The use of figurative language did in fact hold my attention, and did in fact leave a long-lasting impression on me. In the third or fourth grade, I had read Tuck Everlasting as a reading assignment in school. Let’s just say I wasn’t exactly the one to be caught with a book in my hands, but Tuck Everlasting is one of the books that made me enjoy reading much, much more than sitting around and watching television. I had remembered…
