While I have enjoyed learning about the world my entire life through books, school, and the internet, I have yet to to see it. My favorite classes have always been those about other countries and cultures, and I have always aspired to one day see the many different places I have learned about. Sophomore year of high school I struggled through memorizing hundreds of dates, places, and people, yet I ultimately fell in love with not only what I was learning, but also with the challenge of learning it. The rich history of kings, religion, and art vastly contrasted the small town where I am from. I found an escape in my readings every night despite their length. In the end, I received my worst grades from all of high school in this class. For some essentially unexplainable reason, however, I consider it to be the most worthwhile course I have ever
