Young adults who use social media, but not Tumblr
The Best Form of Social Media
Imagine a rainy day when there is absolutely nothing to do. All the homework assignments you have are done, you have already gone through your chores, and none of your friends are available to hang out. As a last resort, you decide to go on a social media website. Many times I log off of the website to log back in five minutes later out of pure boredom. The issue I, and probably many other people, face is absolutely nothing has changed and the same boring stories are being featured. With nothing else to do we sit there signed in, refreshing the page, waiting for something exciting to appear. Maybe it’s time to sign up for a new website. There is a plethora of choices, but by chance, you end up signing up for Tumblr, a personal blogging website founded in 2007 by David Karp. Out of the 67% of people who use social networking websites, only about 6% of them use Tumblr. Tumblr is not statistically as popular as Facebook, but it is the best choice for a social media website. Tumblr is the best social media website because it is easy to use, allows the user to keep in touch with friends, is extremely safe, and authorizes the user to express themself. Cellphones are widely used and it is a fact that over half of the adult population, approximately 61%, in the United States of America has smart phones. Many companies make it a point to keep their products “easy to use”. A tactic that companies are utilizing now is creating cellphone applications that either promote or support their product. Tumblr does have a smart phone app that allows the user to always have access to their account as long as their cellphone is connected to the Internet. This feature makes the website user-friendly and allows for a blogger to almost always have access to their blog at the touch of their fingers. The layout of Tumblr is the same on a computer as well as on the cellphone app.
