Many people are misunderstood and judged because others are viewing them like people view buildings as they drive down the highway, guessing the interior must represent the building’s outer shell. Tupac Amaru Shakur was one of many victims who faced discrimination because of his parents’ history with the Black Panthers and his misunderstood music lyrics. He was labeled as a thug and put into a category where he did not belong. Being a victim of discrimination, he continued his focus and love for the middle and lower class families. Before his death, he planned and constructed a school of arts in Stone Mountain, Georgia, which his mother, Afeni Shakur finished her son’s plan after his demise. During his concerts, he gave out hundred dollar bills…

It can be developed from a tragic event that happened in one’s life or even a series of events that would break down a normal person. Those four people are Laura Hillenbrand, Louis Zamperini, Russell Phillips, and Fred Garrett.…
To be resilient means to be “able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions” (Oxford Dictionaries). Throughout the war Louie had a troubling time being resilient, but he progressed and persevered. Most people will certainly not go through the traumatic experiences of being a POW, but by comparing their struggles they can have a positive attitude to not give up. This mentality leads to a person becoming stronger and diligent. Having resilience leads a person to a freedom of…
On September 7, 1996, Tupac Amaru Shakur was riding in the passenger side of a black BMW driven by Marion Suge Knight, president of Death Row Records. Tupac and Suge had just finished watching Mike Tyson defeat Bruce Seldon at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tupac was standing up through the sunroof while the car was stopped at a traffic light. The Cadillac containing the gunmen passed an entourage of Tupac's allies, many of them bodyguards. Four unidentified men pulled alongside Suge's car, fired 13 rounds, and sped away. No one gives chase and there were no witnesses on the street. How come? Why not, especially after a heavyweight fight? Tupac was shot in multiple places including his pelvis, hand, and torso. Suge was grazed in the head w/ a slug of a bullet fragment. On Friday, September 13, 1996, he was reportedly pronounced dead at 4:03 p.m. at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas. But, did he really die? There are many suspicious details about his departure that contribute to this theory. It is supposed that Tupac is still alive b/c of things said before and after his death, actions done before and after his death, and other reports.…

Thus, when you speak about Tupac, you can talk about his courage, his relentless passion, bold lyrics, and irrefutable influence all day. Tupac Shakur tells the history of a certain group during a specifically challenging time; that of African-Americans, especially young men, in the society of the nineteen nineties. Children who are born prematurely and/or with disabilities, who cry and cannot be comforted, who cannot sleep or who will not accept being held are more vulnerable to adversity and may be less likely to be resilient.…
