Southwest boasts the best on-time record, best baggage handling, and fewest customer complaints in the airline industry and won the industry's Triple Crown award for Best Airline five times in a row from 1992-96. It was the first airline with a frequent flyer program to give credit for the number of trips taken, not just the number of miles flown, and also pioneered senior discounts, Fun Fares, Fun Packs, a same-day air freight delivery service, ticket-less travel, and many other unique features. Southwest Airlines has proven to take advantage of such strategies and succeed because of the high-frequency, short hops at low rates they offer. Even though other airlines have begun to incorporate Southwest Airlines strategies and values, Southwest Airlines still leads and remains efficient by maintaining the loyalty of their employees and in keeping their customers satisfied.…

By creating a positive image for their brand, they will have a number of benefits. More passengers choosing to travel with them in turn means more money for the airline, which they can then re-invest into their planes or to train staff. The result will be a better word of mouth for the company. These new customers may become loyal to the airline and this will benefit them as they are choosing to stay with a company they can trust instead of choosing one of their competitors. This will increase the reputation of the company, and could mean more investment into the company from outside companies and shareholders.…

Southwest Airlines is the largest carrier in the United States and they get the high satisfaction ratings of the country’s best customer service providers from business week’s ranking. The reason why they can do so is that they contain good policies for the customers. For example, a case in St. Louis, an ice storm had stocked the plane for several hours. The flight attendants and pilots walked through the plane like usual, trying to answer questions that customers had and they provided the information for the passengers about connecting flights. Passengers who were on the flight were surprised by the letter they got after few days. They got a free round-trip flight.…
