1. How successful do you think Ashely will be as a transformational leader at Ultra Cover?
I think Ashley has a fair chance of being a successful transformational leader at Ultra. She is demonstrating some personalized charisma leadership which according to DuBrin (2016) serves primary their own interests, exercises few restraints of their use of power (p.89) from my perception she is striving to use transformational and transactional leadership. Through she is taking a process and performance approach vice people approach. According to DuBrin (2016) charismatic leaders create a vision for others (p.87). Transformational leaders bring about major, positive changes by moving group members beyond self-interest and toward the group, organizational, or society (p.89). Based on Ashley’s quantitativness in her approach to addressing cost cutting measures, rewards and punishments of I’m more inclined to say she would need to make some adjustments in her style in techniques to become more people oriented

I’d suggest she take the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) to develop internal and external relationships, improve personal, professional and team effectiveness and reducing the hidden costs of conflict (Excellerate Performance New Zealand 2016). Id encourage her to work on her communications skills as outlined in “Crucial Conversions” by Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, Ron Mcmillian and Al Switzer. Create a comfortable and safe communication environment (p.83), be enthusiastic, optimistic and energetic, (p. 87). According to DuBrin (2016) ability to inspire trust, emotional expressiveness of warmth, empowering and able to make group members feel capable, energetic and capable are all characteristic of charismatics leaders that Ashely could work on to be more effective and eventually
